New JL w3, no sound, popping every few secs?

Hey, i got a new jl sub today, and after finding fuses for hours, i cant get the subs to put out. ive got an old powerlogic (360) 150w briged amp powering it, every time i power the amp, the jls start popping every few secs, and no sound.
the sub is rated for 100-500 so it should be fine
4ohm using a bridgable amp. It said it was good at 4 ohms, so meh.
