Nice to hear that we won't have to deal with that BS ending from the first series, and they will actually finish what was started.
I hope [as] picks it up, but I'm curious if the new season would take over the old season at the 4-5a.m. spot it usually airs, or if it would move up at all?
I guess I'm one of the rare few who actually liked the ending and tons of filler episodes. But yeah, If there is a second series then they have no excuse when it comes to better pacing. I'm thinking it'll be no more than 52 episodes.
They were catching up to the manga so it's perfectly understandable. Even though I love InuYasha filler I'm glad they didnt make some non canon ending in which they defeated Naraku. They were smart in deciding to end the show right there and wait a couple years to continue.
I wouldn't be too worried since about what, 335ish manga chapters went into the 167 episodes of the first half, and there's another 220 or so left.
That should give the second part of the anime a good 100+ episodes of having Naraku seemingly die oh let's say a dozen more times only to survive and then reappear to twart the gang yet again.
This is good news. Inuyasha started out strong. But I totally lost interest in it when the story got stretched out with filler and Naraku got almost-killed for the billionth time.
However, I don't think the new Japanese series will be able to top this one.
I'll be a little surprised if AS picks it up for tv, and even if it is I don't expect it to be put in a decent timeslot, the block barely cares about anime enough as it is (I wonder if even the licencors care that much anymore)
I think [as] will pick this one up. In a recent bump, they said the lack of New on Saturday was because they didn't like much of what was on in Japan atm. Considering a lot of anime in Japan aimed at [as]'s target audience is basically softcore porn, I get the feeling they'll be interested in this.
About time!! Seriously though, VIZ better dub this quick and get it on [adult swim] and DVD as well. I really don't want to wait until 2011 or something when they decide to release a three-episode DVD every three months. Especially if this show runs about 52 episodes.
