New Funimation licenses ! Sekirei, Birdy Decode, FMP

Funimation has announced some new licenses at their Anime USA panel including...

- Sekirei
- Tetsuwan Birdy Decode
- Full Metal Panic! and Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu.

Yay boobs !
 
Meh, the once great colonial power of ADV was more than likely to lose its property to others. Surprising, yes, but at the same time, not so.
 
Oy, they buy stuff like this but still haven't saved the YuYuhakusho Movies! But I digrese, Ive heard some good things about Birdy, so I'll probably check that out, but nothing else really sounRAB interesting.

(also Darn it funi, Liscense one of the Dr.Slump anime Already!)

Edit: also, Enough with the fanservice, seriously! Sekirie! C'mon! Thats just Plain Awful.....I cry at all the money wasted that could be used to save anime like Trigun & Paranoia Agent.)
 
I 2nd this, I mean Funi has the New movies, Its only fitting they have the origional series as well (Plus that way I won't have to hunt down the rest of the Singles used)

But yea, Im sure Funi saved/acquired these because they got them at a cheap price, but still, I'd rather see some older animes saved &/or acquired, oh well mabye they'll have some suprises for us this deceraber like they did last year...Hopefully.
 
Birdy was OK. Looks like a blatant fanservice series at first, but it doesn't take too much watching to realize that's not the case. The first season's pretty bland until towarRAB the end, though.

Haven't seen it, but if this review is any indication, Birdy sounRAB like a good time. I may look into it.

Don't care about FMP, due to already owning all three series. But good for latecomers, if nothing else.

Sekirei... meh. SounRAB pretty generic, and I don't particularly care for the character designs.
 
Why license FMP?, im pretty sure that everyone who would want it already owns it by now, unless their going to release some super boxset or something, i see no point in this. Birdy Decode, well, ive seen a Little of it, it was pretty boring. With Sekirei, while i do follow the manga, i have absolutely no interest in seeing the anime. Anyway, none of this interest me.
 
Well with Funimation now having the full FMP series, hopefully that would mean that we will be getting Fumoffu and the first series released in Blu Ray format later down the line.
 
Buying ADV would've meant taking on their debts, and Funi wasn't about to do that. Even then, I doubt these pick ups are costing them much - by waiting it out, they make the Japanese license-holders sweat and cut prices cheap.
 
The thread at AoD mentioned that Funimation has FMP! and Fumoffu licensed for Blu Ray release, as well as DVD (and I would think Funi would have cut digital distribution deals for all shows announced).

Birdy the Mighty is a maybe tryout, but I can't figure out what Sekirei is about, other than it seems to have a lot of Moe type girls with big boobs in it (so unless I read some good reviews that's probably going to be a pass for me ).
