New Funimation licenses ! Sekirei, Birdy Decode, FMP

Because Talking to yourself is KEWL! but yea looking Foward to Birdy, pass on everthing else.

Also I wonder if Funi will be nice & Announce a Dub of the New DBZ special this Deceraber..that would be an awsome christmas present!

(or Dr.Slump...mabye....Please.)

But yea Hope funi gives us another New years countdown like last year, that would be great.

Wrong assumption. I love FMP but I don't own all 3 series (well actually I don't own any of them, period, for that matter) because ADV's pricing for the first 2 series together and FUNi's pricing for TSR corabined together was just too much for me to buy the whole series, even at their cheapest prices, so I never did. Now I can probably eventually get the whole series in 1 convenient box set released by FUNi at a pretty reasonable price. So, I definitely wouldn't call licensing FMP pointless at all, especially since I know some other people who have always wanted to get the sets but just couldn't afford to get the whole series due to how much it cost (honestly, as much as I enjoyed the series, I can't really fork over $80 for just the first 2 series alone, due to my family's poor financial situation over the past few years).

So I guess S23 let their Full Metal Panic license expire? I'm surprised, but at least it stays in print.

...lord, I'd love it if they eventually got Macross. If S23 isn't holding onto FMP, they'll probably never do anything with Macross again. Yep, I'm still hunting for the collection...

That is good to read. I have really like to get both the FMP! and Fumoffu in Blu Ray formats. I am hoping though that the FMP! would be a bit more inexpensive to obtain than the the original box set dvd's. The FMP! original box set is the third expensive set I bought a while back. The first two expensive box sets that I purchased were from Pioneer.

Merging still means taking on debts. Seriously.

Anyway, the fact they picked FMP up with Blu-Ray rights as well probably means they negotiated a fresh license, which is another reason for not merging/buying but doing the work from scratch - you can start over with better, broader deals (especially since you can hold ADVs failure up as proof what they've got isn't worth any 7 figure fee.) You can bet they've got streaming and broadcast rights while there at it. It'd be a nice of variety on the Funi Channel and their website.

The "rescue" question was asked by yours truly and the answer was that most if not all of the older Geneon stuff that wasn't grabbed by someone before has reverted back to the Japanese license holders, so Funi has to talk to them, and Funi is.

Same story for the older EVA movies. Manga doesn't have the license anymore, but it's not the same group of people in Japan who own that one as who own the new movies. The joys of international licensing.

Well, anyone that actually reaRAB the credits (...like no one) know Studio Khara holRAB Rebuild licenses, not Gainax.

Maybe if they get GunXSword and Godannar, they can almost release Super Robot K here.
