New Dealership ?

I just leased a spot that would be a great location for a Cricket Store. My question since the nearest Cricket Dealer is 5 miles away and I sign up to become a Cricket dealer is there anything in the their contract that will keep other dealers from opening a store near me?

I know nothing about selling Cricket Phones but I do no my customers and I know this location will be great and I want to be a full service dealer along with our check cashing company.

i dont see wut point of a premier dealer is. =/ u can make more being standard dealer, and flashing selling used phones, and doing repairs 2 :P

they restrict you from flashing phones???
Im a premier door n we flash phones daily :buddies: our reps encourage us to do it.
Difference on a standard n premier are phones prices, cost is lower and we get more advertising ;)

I have both a premiere and standard. The only difference I have is that I cannot sell another carrier in my premiere. I also get COOP money as a premiere. That money has to come out of my pocket at the standard door.

I don't know if I agree with that statement. If your store is in a low income area it seems to me being premier dealer is going to better since your getting coop money plus brand image upfront money plus most people in lower income areas don't have credit to get other brand phones.
Now if your store is in a higher income area I would agree you would be better off as a standard dealer because your just not selling as many cricket phones as you would in a lower income area.

I want to be a premier I just wish the distance was more than a mile. Flashing the phones really does not matter to me since payroll check cashing is our main money maker but I don't see why Cricket would care if your flashing phones.

teh only disadvantage of being premier is that you can't sell competing products.
other than that you get steeper phone discounts, coop, better branding, occasionally there are promotions only premiers take part in (very rare but it has happened), etc...
they are not always that strict about the distance, in fact i've been in a situation with multiple premiers competing inside the same mall, cricket is going to do what's best for them, but that means making sure that all their dealers are able to be successful. you're not going to get 5 dealers on one block etc unless there is that much business to be done.

but i dont have a storefront, does that matter??

so i should go into a corporate store??

while we're here... whats the start up costs to cricket?? have i gotta up any cash to them first?? they run a credit check or anything??

heyyyy where's my sig banner???

I am meeting with a the Cricket Indirect Account Manger today hopefully they approve the the new location and we can agree on the contract.

I would go to a corporate store and they can give you the area managers nuraber. That is what I did. As far startup cost you have to buy the phones, computers and etc. and your sign and cost to image your store. Plus your cost of lease and your city fees and etc. I will have approx 25k in my store before I open. Also they do a background and credit check.

HA 25K? there's no way that includes inventory. lets put it this way. cricket wanted a 1/4 million line of credit to open a premier in vegas. that may have been a little high but it would cover your operating costs for several months while you build up cashflow...

I am putting about 25k with inventory give or take. Hell my liquor store I am only carrying 60k in inventory. You don't need much inventory if you get the phones in 7 days a two week supply at most should be fine and the accessories are dirt cheap and you can buy them locally.

Cricket at least here did not ask for line of credit. Everything here is seems to be through 3rd party agreements that Cricket uses maybe I am overlooking something but 25k will work that does not include operating capital to run the business that really depenRAB what type volume your doing.

I may be wrong since I brand new to the cell phone business but its not my first business to run and since Cricket is not my main focus nor my money marker I am just using it for more traffic to my check cashing business. I am also in a very poor part of town where most people don't like to go but I learned a long time ago serve the masses not the classes and you will make money.

i have a liquor store too with a standard door. i started with about $3,300 in total inventory, phones and accessories, but then again, i only have 2 display cases and a spinner rack for the accessories...we gotta keep the ghetto motif goin lool

and where does one get started on the track to becoming a dealer?? I filled out the website form, haven't heard anything back yet. would it be better to have a storefront already, or can i work that out after??
