Need help with my new car audio system.?

I have a mitsubishi infinity sound system. I just recently bought a new head for the stereo system. I went to the store and bought an adaptor. It seems to all fit together. For some reason though, after i hooked it all up and tested it out. Sound seems to only come through the back speakers. A very little sound comes from the front two door speakers, but it is just bass. They are 3 way speakers and should be putting out a significant amount of treble also, but none at all. When i switch the aux cables around in the back of the deck, then the front ones work, and the back ones dont work properly. I tried adjusting the fade and balance to check that it was the head and not the speakers. But of course, I dont know if i hooked everything up right, or if i just got a bad head. I have a feeling because I am new at this, I did something wrong. Has anyone run into this before that might be able to give me some tips? Thanks

Aux Cables ? for what Like An I Pod or Something Or Running an Amp

Either Way Does Sound Come out Of all Speakers If There Is a Cd In It With the AUX unplugged ? If It Do Then you no You wired it Right

If You have The cd Playing with the aux unplugged and you are only Getting 2 speakers Some thing Wrong With your unit Cause You Said Either or Work Which Means All the Speakers Are Wired Correctly Just not Functioning

Unplug You Aux Play A Cd See If You are Getting 4 speakers If not There is a Setting for your aux Port or You have a messed up head unit

Happy trouble shooting
