I want to improve my audio in my car but I'm not too worried about making it "the best." I'm not sure what to buy, there's so many different things! My car audio is stock and it is already pretty decent, I just want something with more bass and louder. What do you guys recommend? Am I even making any sense? :) Basically, it wouldn't bother me to cut corners, but I wouldn't even know how to go about it. Thanks!
Thanks! I've heard about head units before and I'm a little confused on what they are exactly. I would def benefit from a head unit, I drive a 2006 Saturn Ion 4 dr

if ur factory speakers sound decent, and u dont wanna spend to much money, i suggest you upgrade ur headunit, and just get u one of them amplified tube subs, that way u dont have to worri about buying an amp, amp kit, running wires, ect........

your best bet would be to go to a car audio shop and get something on their lower to mid end line. most places carry some lower end stuff for people like you that just wants it louder but doesnt care about getting to loud.. on the other hand some places sale amp and sub kits that has it all in one. if your new to this and dont mind going with a lesser but still decent sounding system i would get something along the lines of a sony xplode they are fairly cheap subs and they produce plenty of bass for your needs . you can find them at places like walmart.

Before you buy a lot of cheap stuff to save money start by talking to someone in the industry and can help you meet your goals.

My personal suggestion is that the biggest upgrade you can make to most stock car radios (unless you own a higher end car) would be to replace the head unit. it would help a great deal if you re-posted the question or added your year, make, model and factory stereo options.

When replacing the head unit look for one with subwoofer control if you plan on adding those even at a later date. Having a dedicated subwoofer output allows you to tune the interior speakers to play at maximum volume by lowering the bass because the subwoofer will be making up the lower end
