Need an amp for this Rockford Fosgate sub.?

What size amp would I need? And if possible, an explanation of why that amp would be necessary. I'm pretty new to this, so any help would be beneficial.
 
try to get an amp thats atleast 1000 wats n its 2 channel amp so ur fosgate subber would sub really good . so for every hit it has its would have a strong n clean sub.n ur fosgate sub is a 1000 watts subber so thats y u need 1000 watts apm so it kan be able to pick it up good.
