NCAA Football Schedule on BEV

Well, BEV did just call me back, which was nice, if not all that helpful.

The guy basically pointed out the same schedule of games as in my post above, in addition to the Florida State @ Colorado game at 10pm.

I pointed out back to him that that's still not the same as what Cogeco's schedule says (which he then checked and admitted I was right). And as he admitted to not knowing anything about college sports, I also pointed out people sign up for this package to see the games from ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU, not teams like Nicholls State or Norfolk State from the Gameplan package.

I also questioned why the OSU/Troy game tonight is not being shown in HD, noting that all ESPN and ESPN2 games are in HD. He didn't have an answer for that.

He said he would take all that information back to the marketing people.

You can not cancel sports package like NCAA, NHL, NFL, Nascar or Cricket

Once you suscribe the suscription is for the hole year...

Graal when we add those sports package it always shows as an addition of 0$. If agent wanted to give you a credit or some form of compensation he needed to fill out a credit request

We don't know much about that package since there is no schedule offered on the Bell site. Our agent information system doesn't provide us the schedules, it only describes the pack and states the cost.

We CSR can not communicate with the marketing departement. If we call tech 3 they might be able to communicte with the group that puts the programming on, i'm not sure

If you look in othe threads I posted the adress of the marketing departement. Maybe you could write then your frustration

Actually I believe the technical issues explanation. Being with Cogeco, and having BEV installed on Monday, I have seen games that were suposed to be broadcast but never showed up. Games that were on wrong channels. And games that were not even on the schedule but broadcast anyway. Many times the feed for the games is where the problem lies and is beyond the control of BEV.

Ok people, we have 3 options here.

-We can sit back and let BEV kick us in the balls with this.

-We can cancel our packages.

or

-We can keep calling them and get this damn thing fixed. The guy I spoke to was at least trying to be helpful. When noon rolls around on Saturday, if they don't have the Pitt/MSU, CMU/Purdue, and Illinois/Syracuse games on, call them. They'll admit that they're suppose to show the same games as Cogeco, so point out the games that Cogeco is showing. (The link to Cogeco's schedule is on page 1 of this thread.) Refer them to ESPN's schedule here: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/schedules
Make sure they know that YOU know more about what they should be showing than THEY do.

I'm going with option 3. I don't want to cancel. It may not pay off this week, but if enough people call and get through to the right people, we may get this fixed for next week. We shouldn't have to be doing this, but sometimes if you keep banging your head against the wall, the wall just might move.

Whilst I applaud your persistence, I doubt you will make any changes.

The CSR's just follow scripts, they can only send messages to the Programming Departments.

What you need is a direct Number to call, I will try to find something for you, that way if you cut through the BS you may just make a difference.

College Sports was advertising twice as much action as the previous years with Big 10, Pac 10, SEC and ACC matchups, what we have received thus far does not have the quality of matchups, nor will the quantity meet the advertised number of games. There was a classic Big 10/Pac 10 matchup yesterday, televised on ESPN in the US and on Cogeco in Canada and at the height of the afternoon for college football. BEV responded with the Rutgers/Norfolk St matchup which is Big East vs Not sure what Norfolk St conference is as they are Div11, final score 59-0 Rutgers. One of the late games shown by BEV was Hampton vs NC AT&T which once again are Div11 schools, in addition the game was shown at 10:00 PM EST but was played at 3:30PM EST. I believe this is clearly a case of the programming dept not having a clue what feeds they are hooking into, and for that we should be compensated as the advertising indicates more games and involving conferences of major college football, not the second grade crap that is currently being offered. Upper management needs to hear these concerns otherwise they will let the usual suspects continue offering sub par material, lets get this thing rectified as college football is already 1/4 over. Do not advertise something as being bigger and better than last year when it has failled to even come close to what was offered the last few seasons, you have the tools to work with, just get on with it and get this thing fixed.

More updates. The Guide now has the following listings for each channel's "next game":

391: Texas A&M @ Miami, Thurs. 7:30
392: Morgan St @ Hampton, Thurs. 7:30
393: Georgia Tech @ Virginia, Sat. 12:00
394: North Carolina @ South Florida, Sat. 12:00
395: Oklahoma @ Tulsa, Fri. 8:00
396: Temple @ Bowling Green, Sat. 12:00
397: Alternately showing Texas A&M @ Miami, Thurs. 7:30, and Kentucky @ Arkansas, Sat. 6:00, depending how far you scroll ahead.
398: East Carolina @ West Virginia, Sat. 12:00 (this will likely also be on 392 in SD)

This is definitely a step in the right direction.
Hopefully this is still a work in progress and the games on 394 and 395 will be added to the HD channels.

Can someone please give us an answer as to where we can find the scheduled games BEV will be showing on there college football package. I phoned three times today and got three different answers from each CSR. One told me to go to the Cogeco website and that BEV would be showing the same games as listed. The second CSR had no clue as she indicated that they would be showing every NCAA scheduled football game, scary thing is I could not convince her that this would not be possible with out prempting an extra 60 or 70 channels on Saturday for this purpose. Surely the programming people must know what feeds they are picking up, is it that hard to post an adobe schedule, even if it is only week to week. If you go by the guide this week we are looking at one game on Friday, OSU and Troy State, and then Ark/Bama, Bos Coll/GT and wow Hampton/Tar Heels a couple of football schools with a massive history. With some big games this weekend not getting major network coverage it would be nice to know what we have to look forward to each weekend. If the comment regarding the Cogeco schedule is accurate then I would be okay with that selection of games, as thay are showing two games Thursday, one on Friday and ten games over Saturday with a nice mix of early and late starts, as well as some reknowned football programs Ohio State, FSU, Washington, and Texas. Any help would be appreciated, please tell me I am not stuck watching Hampton/NC Sat night while the Cogeco folks are watching FSU/Colorado.

Really? I got my info from the ESPN website too. Don't know what you were looking at.

Now the guide is showing (once the Thursday night games are over):

391: Syracuse @ Louisville, Sat. 12:00
392: East Carolina @ West Virginia, Sat. 12:00
397: North Carolina @ South Florida, Sat. 12:00

The rest of the "next" games are the same as the post above.

Then scrolling ahead, we also get:

392 & 398: Kentucky @ Arkansas, 6:00
393: Maryland @ Wake Forest 3:30, Connecticut @ Pittsburgh 7:00
394 & 397: Northwestern @ Ohio St. 3:30, Georgia @ Alabama 7:45
395: Kent St. @ Akron, 12:00
396: San Jose St. @ Utah St., 8:00

That's as far ahead as the guide will go right now, but I expect we'll also get the Purdue @ Minnesota game on 392 & 398 at 9:00, and Alabama A&M @ Grambling St. on 393 at 10:00.

Still no mention of the Oklahoma/Tulsa game being in HD, but I'll be at the Ticats/Stampeders game at the time so I don't really care.

Finally. This is a big change from what the guide was showing on Tuesday (the last time I called BEV), and the kind of schedule we expected when we signed up. It looks like the squeaky wheel is getting the grease.

Agent Express V:

1. If you don't give us the programming that you should be giving us in those packages, we damn well better be able to cancel it. The price for nothing should be nothing.

2. The CSR said he would delete the package from my account, and then re-add it with a notification saying I was not to be charged for it. I know the calls are recorded, so if I do get charged (I think the charge appeared in December last year) I'll be calling back. Unless the programming improves to an acceptable level, then I have no problem paying for it.

3. The CSRs I spoke to did not communicate directly with the marketing dep't. I was transferred to someone else (possibly the tech 3 you mentioned) and he said he would check with marketing. On my second call, he (a different person) said he would take my info to management.

Having just switched from cable, my experience with the NCAA pkg listings was that many games were not listed. Many games were listed on the wrong channels. And many games that were supposed to be shown were not. From what I have seen so far, BEV is doing a better job listing and presenting the games than the local cable service. I guess you have to have been on the other side of the fence to realize that sometimes the grass is not greener but also hasn't been watered in ages.

Well I'm hoping to get past the CSR that answers the phone like I did the other night. But a direct number would be appreciated.

All, I am hearing that NCAA does not publish their official TV schedule until approximaetly 1 week in advance. I have plugged a couple of friends who are close to the US College Sports Package provider to straighten issue out and get the BEV folks to put the schedule on ******** and provide it weekly to CS. Hope that helps....

That's true. If you look at espn.com, they have most of next week's (week 5) TV schedule set, but there are still a few games with TBA showing as the time. And very little of the week 6 schedule is settled.

Even this week, the Florida/Mississippi game wasn't listed as being on Gameplan until Tuesday or Wednesday I think.

LWerner, thank you for continuing your persistance. The only chance we have of getting this right is with more people doing this.

I also stressed the fact that they were featuring low-calibre matchups. The person I spoke to (not the CSR) admitted to knowing nothing about sports, but when I mentioned that even I don't know where Nicholls State is, he genuinly seemed concerned and understanding that the games being offered were unacceptable.

BTW is Hampton vs North Carolina A&T this saturday night at 10:00 pm.

I have BEV and they have big issues with scheduling for both MLBEI and the NCAA football package.

I usually check http://sports.espn.go.com/espntv/espnTopics?topic=Football&watch=CFB It is correct now.

This week NCAA package schedule on BEV is better. The schedule before the start of the games was not updated. They forgot to add the Bowling Green-Temple and Akron-Kent State games on the list.
