NCAA Football Schedule on BEV

Just noticed BEV now has a pdf schedule up on their website.

Except it's a pretty old copy. It only goes up to October 13th, and even some of last weekend's games are still listed as TBA.

I tried using the "contact us" section last week and all I got was a reply apologizing that I wasn't satisfied with the programming. Not exactly helpful.

Dean W, you are right on with that statement.......

Hell, the management did not even know how many Satellites they had up in Space last year during a Technician Training meeting.

Unfortunately, they have no serious passion for what they do, it's just a job to most of them.....

The on-screen guide (as of last night, I'm not in front of my TV right now) was promoting the next game for each channel as follows:

391 & 397 - 6:45pm saturday
392 & 398 - 8pm saturday
393 - 10pm saturday (although the game it displayed is actually being played at 6pm, so they may have the teams wrong)
395 - 7pm? (maybe it was 7:30 or 8) Friday - but this is an ESPN2 game that should be on 392 and 398
394 and 396 had nothing.

(I may have mixed up the 6:45 and 8pm games, but you get the point)

Holy crap...
I just got home from work, planning to call and complain about this week's schedule again, but I stopped to check the guide first, and I found:

They've added the two Thursday night games on 391 (Texas A&M vs Miami) and 392 (Morgan St. vs. Hampton). Also, in the current 6:00-6:30 guide block on channel 397 the info is promoting the A&M/Miami game in HD.

Did we finally get through to them? I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, at least until the guide is updated for Saturday.

Agent, I am sure something is getting lost in translation......

There was no mention that his receiver was not getting the channels, it is Express Vu who are NOT braodcasting them.....

Maybe you should see if someone at the Headend can do a Reboot, so they will transmit it in future......

This is an EXpress Vu failure, not a receiver glitch.

I too have been looking for a schedule. I don't understand how they figure out what games to show. I thought maybe they are showing ESPN and ESPN2 games but last night they had an ESPNU game. Looks like Bell doesn't have there act together on this either. Called the other day when I signed up and asked buddy if he could post it somewhere on there website but nothing. Even yesterday alot of channels were displaying the games that were going to be on next week, what about just concentrating on this week.

I called BEV and had the CSR put me through to a "manager". He told me to go to http://www.cogeco.ca/files/pdf/horaire_tvcogeco/SSP/NCAA_schedule.pdf (funny sending me to another companies website) and he said that Bell will be showing all the games shown on the schedule, he said he verified it with his list.
As for last week he said that there were technical issues with some of the channels (if you believe that).

Does anyone know if BEV is skipping games again this weekend? I don't see the Fresno State vs. Hawaii game (11 pm) on Saturday night (Nov.3) in the guide (ESPN2/ESPN2HD game).

I also got a call back on Saturday from a call placed the day before, the answers where not made available with regard to the schedule as it appears the CSR genuinely do not know why this is happening. I was offered a $25.00 credit to my account for the confusion. I like the idea of a full refund that you got better, Baal. If this continues I will continue to call until the answers are provided or I will attempt to recoup my money. Obviously most of the people we deal with do not have a clue about college football but from our feedback maybe management will get the hint, some of the games offered were very low on Gameplans chart Nicholls St, Norfolk St are not even Div 1 schools. Being a Husky fan I was choked that the UW/OSU game was not available as it was ESPNs matinee matchup, things improved with the evening games but it was the morning/afternoon games where they missed the boat. We need to see the ESPN/ESPN2 matchups both on Thursdays and all day Saturdays and this would be a package well worthwhile. Keep us posted Baal.

Based on how last year's package worked, and on the listings on espn.com, this is what I believe the schedule for this weekend should look like:

391/397 - ESPN/ESPNHD
Sat. 12noon Pittsburgh at Michigan St.
Sat. 3:30pm Ohio St. at Washington
Sat. 6:45pm Arkansas at Alabama
Sat. 10pm Florida St. at Colorado

392/398 - ESPN2/ESPN2HD
Fri. 8pm Oklahoma St. at Troy
Sat. 12noon Central Michigan at Purdue
Sat. 3:30pm Texas at UCF
Sat. 8pm Boston College at Georgia Tech

393 - ESPNU
Sat. 12noon Illinois at Syracuse
Sat. 3:30pm Florida International at Miami(FL)
Sat. 10pm Hampton at North Carolina A&T

394, 395, 396 - ESPN Gameplan
A selection of games from the following:
(** denotes games that I would personally recommend choosing to air, if there is flexibility to choose. I tried to pick them so they don't overlap time-slots.)
Sat. 12noon Temple at Connecticut
Sat. 12noon Virginia at North Carolina **
Sat. 12noon Cincinnati at Miami(OH) **
Sat. 12noon Eastern Michigan at Northern Illinois
Sat. 12:30pm Mississippi St. at Auburn **
Sat. 1pm Furman at Clemson
Sat. 1pm Western Carolina at Georgia
Sat. 3:30pm Norfolk St. at Rutgers
Sat. 7pm South Carolina St. at South Carolina
Sat. 7pm Fresno St. at Oregon **
Sat. 7pm Mississippi at Vanderbilt **
Sat. 8pm Middle Tennessee at LSU
Sat. 8pm Wyoming at Boise St. **
Sat. 8pm UTEP at New Mexico St.
Sat. 9pm Nicholls St. at Nevada

(See, it's not that difficult. Hey BEV, how about giving me a job programming this package for you? I'll send you an email every Monday telling you what to air the following weekend.)

Baal, you pretty well have the guide info correct, the problem is these appear to be the only games available Saturday, four games with one of them being on a tape delay basis. The earliest game being shown this Saturday is 6:45 PM so what about all the games during the day that are not being shown. I am on the phone as we speak trying to get answer to this issue but I am not holding my breath. I have to think I will be cancelling this package, which is not what I want to do but have no choice.

I phoned again last night to no avail, basically the CSR agreed it was an issue, noted my comments and indicated that the manager I initially dealt with still had it in his notes that he would call me once this was rectified. Still not getting any answers from upper management with regard to the lack of scheduling and quality of games being shown, it seems it is only getting to a junior level and then stalling. I told the Csr that I would continue to call until it was rectified and ensured he added my last conversation to my file. I also indicated that football is approximately 1/4 over and still no issues resolved.

My mistake...I got the date from ESPN website, without checking the actual NCAA schedule.

That's basically what I told the CSRs on the phone last night.
That I don't want to cancel my package, I want to see the games I signed up for. But I will cancel it if they don't smarten up.

Still waiting for them to call back...

The on-screen guide has been somewhat updated.
Now the "next games" are:

391 - Sat. 12noon Temple @ Conn
392 - Sat. 12noon Cinci @ Miami(OH)
393 - Sat. 3:30pm Norfolk St. @ Rutgers
394 - Sat. 9pm Nicholls St. @ Nevada
395 - Fri. 8pm Okla. St @ Troy
396 - nothing
397 - Sat. 6:45pm Arkansas @ Alabama
398 - Sat. 8pm BC @ Ga. Tech

Ok, so this is better than before, but not by much.
All the added games are lower-level Gameplan games.
Where are the ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU games that people actually want to watch? (and that are on the Cogeco schedule?)

Hopefully what I'm seeing on the screen is simply a "work in progress" and by the time the games actually start they'll have the right ones on there.
