...culture.? I found an article on the whole Nature vs. Nurture theory, and it really got me thinking. I believe that one cant happen without the other, you know? You're put in a situation but it's your choice, whether you come up with it on your own or from somewhere else. Like Macbeth- that'll take me ages to explain, but for those that have read it understand where I am going with.
So I'm really curious- what do you all say about this?

Article:
It has been reported that the use of the terms "nature" and "nurture" as a convenient catch-phrase for the roles of heredity & environment in human development can be dated back to 13th century France. Some scientists think that people behave as they do according to genetic predispositions or even "animal instincts". This is known as the "nature" theory of human behavior. Other scientists believe that people think & behave in certain ways because they are taught to do so. This is known as the "nurture" theory of human behavior. Which do you agree with?

i think that you very most basic instincts come from nature, and like you said i think that what pulls you through comes from nature. but i think that most of the things that you believe in come from nurture and the people you are around.

I would need to know of what behavior specifically to answer this. Some behavior is learned and some is inherent. If we are talking about gays, I would say entirely nature. I would argue nuture with other behavior.

There are great studies done on twins separated at birth. They married a guy with the same name, have the same jobs and many of the same clothes etc. I also believe you can pull a kid out of a cracked out ghetto and bring him up in a privelidged lifestyle and he will succeed.
