I am very happy to see these channels added. When I moved to a rural area and had to make the switch from Rogers to BEV, I was disappointed to find that both were absent from the BEV line-up.

While they ARE indeed sent 720p HD, like most others, and are a welcome addition to a lineup that has slipped of late, to my eyes, they seemed a little washed out, but as it's been pointed out, they are in test mode, so it's entirely possible some additional tweaking may help.

Great news indeed, I have been waiting for Showcase HD for a long time. Any word when these will actually appear on our guides, ie. officially "active"?

Thanks Monk

This is happening on my 6100. The audio dropout is a loss of Dolby Digital. If you listen in Pro Logic there isn't a problem.

You don't really need them , most people are still happy with SD quality. If you think that quality of HD is so bad , why are you waisting your money paying for it.

I agree about Showcase HD, As much as I like HD I doubt I will watch Showcase.
News in HD? no thanks, another waste. Don't see the value in wtahching a news cast in hi-def. Like, it's just news.

Since I got my Plasma and HD package from Bell, I've all but stopped watching any SD programs. I eagerly await any new HD content that Bell adds.

Regards,

These are specialty channels. I'll bet that if you take the SD equivalents that you'll get the HD versions as well. Same principle as TSN. However we wont know until much later this year for sure.

Based on what I've seen so far I certainly wouldn't pay extra for them.

I completely agree with you on the locals. But multiple spot beam satellites and the ground infrastructure required to support them would be VERY expensive. Not sure I want to be paying for that on my bill.

This was probably done to Combat the fact that Starchoice is adding More HD channels at aprox. the first week of February. So i'd suspect bev will turn on these channels around the same date.

It is a real shame the negativity and pessimistic attitude that some people here show.....you guys know that people can get sick for being too pessimistic? It's a fact.

Granted BEV is not perfect, and if you find a company that is, what are you waiting for? Turning positive news into negative is just sad.

Seriously, smart up and enjoy the ride....

Not sure that I share the excitement of others regarding these two channels. Great to have more HD channels available but still remain concerned about content. How many more programs about "mud ponds of the Kalimanizaro" can we take? Niche markets were okay for the SD channels but remain problematic for HD channels as they burn up valuable transponder space.

Like two others here I'm having no audio dropouts on my 9200. I'm using the Dolby Digital output to my Pioneer receiver.
