Name the worst remake

The Wicker Man - Nic Cage running around screaming and punching women out (sometimes dressed in a bear costume)

THE BEEEES THE BEEEES !

Dire.

Wasnt the 1998 Psycho with Vince Vaughn a scene-for-scene copy of the original? I haven't seen it but I heard it was terrible. I don't know what they were thinking when they decided to make that.

Those who have mentioned Quarantine have chosen wisely IMO.

It's such a strange occurrence as [REC] was such a superb film, you'd have thought that doing an exact copy of it, but with English speakers, it would have worked brilliantly.

I just can't understand, but there was something not right about Quarantine.

the Day of the Dead remake.

There are generally two kinRAB of remake - those which are decent films if taken in isolation (i.e. if you don't compare them to the original) and those which are bad films in their own right, especially when compared to the source material.

the Dawn of the Dead remake is an example of the former - if you compar it to the original, you notice the lack of a lot of subtlety and some of the more fun aspects of what came before, but as a film in itself it's fine.

the Day of the Dead remake is an example of the latter - not just an example, but possibly an exemplar of it. It's a bad film, and if you compare it to the original it'll make you want to cry.

I really enjoyed the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.

It payed homage to the original whilst at the same time introducing a new element to the genre (fast moving zombies).

Before anybody starts on me, they weren't zombies in 28 Days Later.;)

The remake of John Carpenter's The Fog was abysmal. They cast whatisname from Superman in the lead and he wasn't good enough to carry the film. They changed the story, which was just pointless.

I knew I shouldn't have bothered with it, and I was right :D

I think the remake of Dawn of the Dead was actually better than the original. As there were more characters you could get your teeth into. Sorry for the pun. :D

I think I'm being swayed over to your choice. My mind had blocked out the abomination that is the Day Of The Dead remake. I was so angry watching it I went dizzy for a few minutes....blood pressure probably. Shit, they'd even cast Logan as some suave George Clooney lookalike. Zombies crawling across ceilings...."Bub" being human for half the movie then having a teenage crush on Mira Survino... Everything, and I mean everything about that abortion of a film is repugnant.

Personally I'm not a fan of any remakes except maybe the ones from Japanese into English like they've taken to doing in horrors and thats mainly cos I don't know there is other versions until I watch the Hollywood one. One I really don't like is Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
I wish they would quit remaking movies and get original ideas I mean footloose is going to come out again. And I reckon that'll bomb

Nah like said its bad in itself.Saw the new one first.Laughed at it.Saw the orignal. Was just omg the singing and the general creepyness and Christoper Lee!Nicholas Cage like in most films was bloody awlful..and the bear costume hahaha

Oooh, Rollerball! Thanks for reminding me of that stinker! How they could take such a great original and remake something so shallow out of it is unbelievable!

I agree on Dawn of the Dead as well. The remake was quite a good film in its own right (despite 'fast zombies' not being a particularly good idea), but compared to the original it's poor.

Stepford Wives anyone?
