N95 Will *now* be released in Q2

since FP 1 supports higher resolutions, namely, VGA why would nokia release this phone with such a low resolution (read: ******) screen?

thanks for the link man.

Now that Cingular has launched the 8525, there aren't any phones that use US 3G that are not available through Cingular. Unbranded, you could get an HTC TyTn, it's basically the unbranded 8525.

Any other 3G phone, if you can't buy it from Cingular, it won't work on their network.

n95 is still planned for 1st quarter...in usa it will be relesed like in 3rd quarter propably cause usa is like way behind........but in europe it will be released in 1st quarter

Wirelessly posted (Cruisin1966\'s: Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

With the gps added and the new point version of the Operating system I would think the first models to be a little problematic

As long as it gets released. That's all I care about. And in truth I don't plan on buying one until a few months after it comes out. Give OTHER people time to find bugs in the software. Gives Nokia time to have fixes. Also give time for the price to come down a bit. I wasn't really planning on buying one till about Dec 07 or Jan 08 anyways.

I wouldn't get too excited about it, since the same page saying the N95 has US3G shows that the N80 does too. Would Nokia bother adding WCDMA 1900, which would work only on Cingular, to a non-Cingular branded phone?

It also shows that the N95 doesn't have GSM850, which would render it useless on Cingular.

This sounds so stupid because Rcadden is so bloody right. LOL!!!!
I have seen some nice feature phones get most of their functionality destroyed by Cingular's obsessive desire to squeeze every penny out of their customers!

Cingular is Canada's Telus over here. They are horribly known to even block a phone's serial connection that way you HAVE to pay to add bloody ringtones OTA! How sad IS THAT?

PS: I am STILL NOT IMPRESSED with the crappy battery they are attaching to this otherwise impressive sounding phone. They are making the same mistake the did with the N80...

This is the main reason why I am thinking of skipping this phone altogether.
I swear, another miss Nokia and I am running for a HTC instead.

Wow
I was really looking forward to the N75 but after watching those blogs I have just changed my mind and will get the N95 when the US version comes out.

N95 is a Quad-band and that's a fact!

Cingular's not near as bad as some other *cough*red*cough* carriers here in the US. At least you still can use unbranded phones and have unbridled bluetooth. Honestly Cingular's pretty lax with their phones, they just muck them up all over the place, so that those who don't know any better take the bait.

the n95 should be relatively bug free and should not require many fixes if any... this SHOULD BE a smooth release the... 3rd edition is a stable platform now and it would be unacceptable imo for them to have any major bugs

How can a band be overrated? If you're living in areas with mainly 850, then its kind of a necessity.

Unless you were trying to be funny, in which case you still fail

If HTC made an S60 symbian, it'd be a good run for Nokia's money. Tell you what, they were the first to be able to squeeze a quad-band gsm and tri-band umts antenna in a phone. if you could marry HTC's specs list with S60 and NOkia's design department, I'd be a fan.
