i'm not that excited about the phone... i'm a sony fanboy remember lol...

anyways the n95 is mainly hardware changes imo..cause 3rd edition is pretty stable now... so i have faith that this model will be relatively bug free ..except for the gps maybe....

Old news by now, but what the heck:

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/12/04/nokia-site-shows-q2-07-release-for-n95/

The good news? Nokia's N95 product page on the official Nseries site is pretty thorough -- enough to give the Symbian lovers among us some in-depth reading material to hold us over for a bit. The bad news? Their device comparison chart now shows a second-quarter '07 release for the superphone, one quarter later than we were expecting. Of course, in this day and age, delays of this nature should never surprise us; if anything, we'd be surprised if a phone of this complexity were to actually arrive on time. But needless to say, the official N95 material on the site is most definitely not enough to bide our time for another four to seven months.

I live and die Nokia but i'm extremely confident that the N95 will be at least 2FW's away from a stable "usable" gps system. This will probably be the major gripes which is okay. As long as it isnt build quality on that dual slide.

it's kool because online gsm cellphone shops like plemix and myworldphone gets the phone 4 months before its official release, so i'm sure the n95 will be available by January or February

I wouldn't be so sure. I think when you talk about release dates, you're talking about availability dates, which would still put the N95 out around March or April. We'll see though.

exactly gps.. being an issue i can see.. but hoepfully..memory management and battery life will be properly addressed.. plus menu speed of course....

Don't really care bout the gps software that is included in the n95 even if it is buggy

All i care bout is the GPS receiver built in the N95 itself, so that when u use a program like TomTom or CoPilot software, u don't need to buy or use a seprate bluetooth gps receiver.

I just like it cause it describes my career so far in the financial services industry. I am in the 50% pain stage since I have been unemployed. And I like the song. Not many people peg that sig line

the 2Q release date is for the north american version of the N95. Look at the specs, it has north american 3G bands. The Euro version is still planned for 1Q. At least, thats what this means to me.

yeah .. and this would show up on the same provider that delayed the 9300b and w810 for how long? I don't trust Cingular to bring high end phones to the market with any speed relative to their actual release dates. It will be out in europe with a successor named and ready to drop by the time Cingular puts up a "coming soon" banner.

i see. i guess that makes since. sorry to hear about the unemployment.

on topic: does anyone know what kind of new functionality FP 1 adds?

Oh absolutely not through a Carrier. I buy unbranded only. Do you have any idea how raped this would be if it got squeezed through Cingular's branding department? I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
