N91!

so...buddy...umm...yeh...uhh how's that umm review coming along...you no that review...the one you been working on for 3 weeks? (if you watch family guy you'll get it) next coupla days maybe?

lol ok fine thats fine

for me i wouldnt mind both to be honest, however since both of them arent out yet, no pt talking about it really. But having try a n91, i would probably go for that. Since the camera on both phones suck, i would rather use my digi cam instead Mind you, the battery life is great on the phone and if anything goes wrong, put in a bl-6c and everything is good (which i did). I surf hofo and listen to music at the same time for like 1.5 hours and battery is still good

The only huge difference is the camera (3 mp vs 2 mp), form factor (slider vs semi-slide), the 4gb drive (n91), quad band(n80), the card slot (n80), mp3 capabilities (n91), the screen (n80), 3G (n80) and the audio BT (n91).

now please tell me, which n80 spec is so much better than the n91 that u take the n80 (and u already say camera and 850 are not part of the reason)? i assume by spec that u dont mean "form factor" right? I am just wondering The screen and the 3G perhaps?

geeze Monkey..

This is the internet. Tone of voice can not be represented well, and in some of your posts I think you are being a bit sensitive.

Two things about the n90 I wanted to ask:

Key size: I have heard "grain of rice" a couple of times, but they are spaced out, so how is texting on these phones. Feel free to compare to other phones (I have probably used them)

Music features: Like monkey stated it is supposed to be the flagship music phone. How would you compare the music capabilities (ease of getting to the player, options, etc.) to the SE walkman phones.

Lastly. Please write a review I have basically ruled out most new nokia phones as I don't think they will actually be released in my time, but I'd rather not drop the 1000 on the p990 if the n91 is actually a pretty decent phone.

I am wary on the software front as no one has come up with S60 v3 software, but the same goes for UIQ, so they are even. I am looking for a little qtek 9100 and a little w800. I think this is a nice combo.

Mine didnt ship with a headset but did ship with the remote, I think it is due to others will use these proto's they are not new (but in excellent condition).

And yes my email client does work thru wifi, since I have tried doing the T Mobile settings on Nokia website and still cant get data to work I have to use wifi for email. Also whatever they put in there is for a wifi sniffer is VERY strong, picks up more then my PPC-6700 ever did.

oh really? I had no idea. I haven't seen an N91 in person so I was just going off specs. If you guys can sell me the notion that the screen is real good then im definetly going for the N91

Thanks for the tips on fixing the video camera issue. Turns out my good friends at Bongo reformatted the hard drive and voila the unit works flawlessly. As someone that has been in the technology industry for 20 years I must say that this phone is definitely superb. Anyone thinking about getting one that doesn't have a problem with the high price of $850 shouldn't hesitate. The key is the fact that it has a 4gb hard drive and you can save videos, photos and tons of MP3 files to the hard drive. If you would rather spend $225. on a Creative Labs Zen Micro, and another $200 on a 2 mpx camera as well as lug around a cellphone then go that route. This unit does have some slowness when changing between menus and loading music files but nothing that is so horribly slow.
Build quality is very very good and the posters that have said the slider is loose and there are loose panels on the unit is incorrect. Perhaps the one piece he received was somehow poorly built is possible. As someone that has used Motorola phones in the past couple of years and never had a Nokia before this unit is right up there in build quality and features with the best phones out there. I would highly recommend it!!

Just picked up my N91 yesterday, been playing with it since, with little sleep... all I can say so far is WOW... sound quality is UNREAL! Very happy with the music capabilities. Haven't had much time to play around with the rest yet.
I'm not a huge phone techy but I'm very impressed so far.
I'm from Canada, but I'm living in India for my work, and I picked it up for 30thousand rupee... round 800cdn
I'm lost though to tell you the truth, so many features, and things you can do with this bad boy. I'm runnin into a lot of little things I have no idea about, but eventually I'll get it. Just tryin to get some games, and video feeds with my music.

You took me WAY the wrong way here lol, I was stating that it really does not rely heavily on the music player (it's just built in). What I meant by that "if you have ever owned a smartphone", I meant that as an example not as an insult. Just for those who may havent owned one now know that it gives you the option to install on the HD or the phone actualy memory itself (around 30mb) vs just everything going on the HD. So there was no insult there man, this phone is new for us all and I wanna find as much as I can about it and share with everyone. The only time I will direct something specifically is if its a question.

manchuia: yes the keypad sucks big time IMHO, I have basically been doing text messaging on the device more then anything really and it just sucks big time, dont feel like surfing hofo either since the key are just so small.

Also the music player is pretty good, HOWEVER it puts ALL music in there, I have some mp3 ringtones that somehow got added to my list? So now when I listen I suddenly will get a 30 second song kick in, but you can make a playlist of course to stop this. And as for music I have put a ton on it to really test it out, the speaker is pretty good (mono?) and it is on the side of the device so if you set it say on a counter it is not muffled. I have also put the sound thru my Jabra BT500 and it sounds alright and is pretty convient.

Full Resolution:

640x480

What I will say about the camera... pathetic my PPC-6700 takes a much better pic at 1.3mp

Can you post a picture of the headset that your N91's shipped with? I've seen so many promotional photos from nokia with an assortment; I dont think anyone knows what it'll ship with, hence my question.

Does your email client also work with WiFi?

So, who which warlord DID you sleep with *COUGH/COUGH* bang over the head to acquire your new toy?! hehe jk.

Any news of N80's floating around?
