N82 with Apple headphones?

I can understand people not wanting to pay much for earphones, but I know quite a lot of people who are just amazed as to what they have been missing when they finally get In-ear-monitor earphones.

how about bose?

I've been checking on this everytime I go to best buy. But always hesitated. The ipod ones are really crappy. The volume is too low I think. The bt stereo headset from Nokia is much louder.

I cant say from experience but Ive read alot of negative reviews about the Bose IEM. I hear they sound like crap. I was about to buy them from the Apple store until I read all the reviews. I went with a pair of JBL's that were 79.99 and sound great. They even came with a nice case with some adapters in it and of course the multiple sizes. So far my favorite IEM have been the Vmoda Vibes for my iPhone. They sound great are the most comfortable ones yet. I may sell some crap and buy the regular ones since the iPhone model doesnt work in the N82.

Good recommendation. I'm rocking the SE530s at the moment.

If people listen to music often I highly recommend getting good headphones. It's like going from a standard TV to watching HD. People don't know what they're missing.

The bad thing is I can't stand normal headphones anymore -- at all.

I couldn't say that better myself. When you are paying 500+ for a phone like N82 or N95, you might as well dish out another hundred for a decent set of earphones. I use Etymotics IEM and they are the best sound I have heard in a long time.

You must have been pretty sad.

Pretty good so far. I've tried the ER4Ps before as well. I'd say the biggest differences you'll notice is that the Shures have a lot more bass compared to the Etys. Highs are a bit more rolled off as well. But I still like them more because they are warmer sounding -- makes the music sound more fun than analytical. Soundstage and layering is also good. Comfort for me is much better as well.

If you want something that sounds a bit brighter than the Shures, I hear the UE Triple.Fi 10 is great. Quite a few prefer them to the Shures. I haven't tried those myself, but many others say the treble extension is better. Comfort isn't as great though.

I recommend etymotics!
i have shure, etymotic and Sony headphones. The Shures are great except for bass so if you listen to a lot of classical they are good. The sony set sound good a bit too bass oriented but the wire insulation comes off and turns to goo..
The best sounding and qualty I have used are the Etymotics.

My 2c

does the mic work?

the iphone headphones are great due to its size.
sure its not the best sounding but i don't want to lug around a mic almost as big as the actual earphone itself.

20% of the cost of the phone for earphones? You make it sound as if $100 isn't alot. I wouldn't buy a $30,000 car then put $6000 into the sound system to make it sound better.

I think it all comes down to what you're using the headphones for. If you're just going to spend 30 mins on the train listening to music, then a cheaper headphone would be find. If you're a constant music listener, then paying a premium for a good headphone would be better.

I agree, you could also add if you listen to crappy 64kbps music or even 128 it will sound worse on those expensive stuff, so no point in gettting them in those cases.

I have $25, 000 car and I have put over $5000 in sound system in it though! :P

I understand what you mean, they don't understand/realize/need the good sound that I prefer. It's purely a preference thing.

I use Sennheiser CX300, so great for its value. Great with N95 (turn on Stereo Widening and Bass Enforcement and use Standard Equalizer preset)

Besides last week won in a raffle a Nokia BH-501, when I saw it I think that was crap, but I really surprised that how good it is, good bass and overall sound. (no even closer that CX300, but a surprise anyway)

I love my nokia stereo bt headphones that i got from the ambassador program. Bass i good. And the battery lasts for like 2 weeks lol at 11 hours talk time.

Does anyone know what exactly the stereo widening does? I like it a lot and used it on all my nokias i've owned. Never knew how it works though...
