N82 with Apple headphones?

I'm planning to buy the N82 soon and I was wondering if anyone is using a different headphone besides the one Nokia provides [because they look horrible!]. Is anyone using an Apple headphone, if so, how's the sound?? If not, what other headphones would work great [preferably white]. Thanks.

Apple headphones are crap. Im sure they'll be fine if your not picky with sound. Go for some white Sennheiser CX300's. I have a pair in black for my N95 and they're absolutely amazing for the price ($40-$50). Crisp sound, good bass, and comfortable.

Here is a better answer for a question you didn't ask. Will iPhone headphones w/ mic work. So far the answer is no. I have a pair of vibe-duo whatevers and all i get is statis which is sad :-(

i use stereo bluetooth headphones with n95. but the n82 can take any standard headphone set, so dont see why you cant use apple's if you want. the beauty of standardization.

i use black mx-400's from sennheiser, you can get them in white AFAIK

i just wouldnt advice using white headphones, you're MUCH more likely to get robbed/mugged, there have been countless research projects into this.

I second that.

If a robber sees a guy with a $1500 HTC Advantage and black headphones or a $100 iPod with white headphones, he'll go after the white headphones.

Both the Nokia and apple earphones are crap.
Do yourself a favor and get in-ear-monitors from Shure: http://www.shure.com/PersonalAudio/Products/Earphones/SEModels/index.htm

Or Etymotic: http://www.etymotic.com/

ya the mx400 earbuds are cheap and work very well, nice bass.

i also have a pair of sennheiser over the ear headphones for home use v nice quality

Sony EX51
I used to have the EX71, but that's $35. Really good quality.

I think the NX1A style is the best. Its a necklace style headphones and has a lanyard at the end. Thus you can walk around Stavros style while listening to music.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I don't want to spend too much as I only listen to music while commuting on the train.

I was planning to get these, for $15USD, they don't look that bad.

The link is showing $39. Plus I hate those in-the ear headphones.

The N82 mp3 player is too quiet for a guy like me walking the noisy streets of NYC and riding the subway constantly, and the iPhone headset makes the N82 much louder.

List price is $39. Actual price is $21.

I dont get it.

IEMs cut off a lot of external sound and produce sound with less power. This fits in perfect with the N82.

But you prefer the on ear style earbuds that don't seal off external sound as well as IEMs. They require a lot more power just to keep up volume wise with IEMs as well.

I dont get it.

I just use Sony's $9.99 headphones. I have been using them for years, and they sound good for 10 books. I have most of my music in at least 192k, so the quality is good enough if I need a quick fix from my N95...which is rare because the music quality of the phone is garbage -
