another sub as well.? so about a year ago i was in a wreck and never bothered to see if my 2 12' sony explode subs worked and now i have a car and i hooked up my system and my amp reads green on surge protector, other speakers work, ive tried taking another sub and connecting but still nothing so i hope that it leaves me with the relief that my sonys are not blown. ive opened the box, and wires connected fine, my rca cables are connected, remote wire connected to ignition wire, but still no sound. the only odd thing i did was take a extension cord cut off plug in and wrapped all three prong wires together on both sides and used it as a power cable, other odd thing is when in my wreck afterwards i had to open my amp to remove a rca prong that broke off inside amp, i removed it but in the process broke off the metal thing around the hole but still plugs in, and used speaker wire as remote wire, i run a 1000 watt sony explode amp through both subs, it worked before what could be wrong now and why!!!!!!!

Check the fuses. I actually went out and bought 2 new subs one time all because of a fuse not being in place fully. Stupid mistake by my part. But hey, my new subs sound amazing!

You might have to by a new amp the same thing happened to mine all i did was get a new amp and my subs worked fine.
