my stereo in my truck!!!?

i have a 94 silverado 1500. and instead of putting a cd player in their i just bought one of those addapters so i can play my ipod in their, all of the sudden my passenger front speaker didnt work , but on the radio it does.. is it just the tape or is something wrong with my tape player or where can i find out info on this? thanks for your help.
 
a lot of those tape adapters are very low quality , i would suggest using an rf adapter
