My Sister's Keeper

I cant wait to see this movie after reading the book (the only book ive ever cried over).

I dont know what the ending of the film will be only that it is different from the book and tbh i wouldnt be to upset of they did change the ending because i felt the books end was a bit implausible and very upsetting.

I dont like our UK trailer though with James Blunt, the US one is far better. James Blunt would auto put so many people off anything hes assosiated with!

Can't wait to see this! The trailer is fantastic! I have a feeling this will be nominated for an Oscar next year. It just has that look about it and the actors in it are great!

I'm seeing this tonight- it is one of my favourite books so I am very excited.

My sister said she cried the whole way through- I think it's pretty obvious from the trailer that it's gonna pull on the heartstrings- even if you haven't read the book.

I'm a bit iffy about the changed ending, just cos I thought the ending of the book was brilliant. But I'm still looking forward to it!

I seen it yesterday

I have to say i enjoyed it, and actually preferred this ending esp seeing how the story went in the movie, i felt it was the right ending to have

From what i read of how good Cameron was, i got what i expected from her - this is a Cameron i have never seen, acting wise

Sofia was fantastic, esp to play a role like this, and to look like that - i get why Sofia said why she felt like she did when filming this, she is someone to look out for in the future, i hope she has a bright career ahead of her

I have high hopes Abigail in this movie, seeing since i am her fan - i loved her in it, she was brilliant - the range of various emotions she had to get across - it came naturally, and like many have said i think she is best crier on-screen, you get tears in your eyes when she cries its happened a couple of times to me when watching her movies or watching a tv episode of a show she's been on

Jason Patric and Evan Ellingson were good, the subtle performances by them came through, you felt for Jesse - when you see him as a lonely drifter

Going to get the soundtrack for sure :) - the whole beach scene with the song is so well done and so emotional due to the song

Just seen it!

Absolutely amazing.

I cried the whole way through. I prefer the book but it really did do it justice. Was surprised at Cameron Diaz, and love the two girls. Fab cast- just brilliant.

While it's not my fave JP book, the plot is enough to make a film out of, I hope they do it justice.
A bit disappointed to see Cameron Diaz in it though, I can't stand her :(

I went to see this today.
The ending is changed so that Kate dies instead of Anna, with the quote from Anna along the lines of 'miracles sometimes don't happen'. Not the exact quote from the movie, but when you compare it to the book its terrible because obviously Kate survives and Anna is the one to die.

To me the book was about how Sara didnt give up, and therefore Kate lived so I was a bit disapointed.

Not to say I didnt cry... the opposite in fact :p I sobbed. I reccomend taking 2 boxes of tissues with you!

Horribly sad. But amazing.

I cried a LOT, but the ending. Oh god.. lol I didn't wanna make much noise :o and was literally gasping for breath.

I would love to see it again with the book's ending though, just to compare the two.

Cameron and Evan do look alike actually!

Just been to see this and what an amazing and moving film. I have never read the book so have nothing to compare it to. Could someone please put in spoilers what the book ending was?

I was crying buckets throughout and had to put my hand over my mouth to stop me crying loudly! Even when we left the screen, I just wanted to sit and sob my heart out properly. I will definitely buy this on dvd.

Yeah it is good if you don't compare it to the book!

All the main five cast members IMO were amazing, I've seen around 5 of Cameron Diaz's films and I thought this was her best performance by a mile, especially in the last scene
where Kate was basically telling her goodbye
.

The two girls who played Kate and Anna were also v.good and I was already a fan of Evan Ellington who plays Jesse.
However I think they could have gone into a bit more depth of how troubled he actually was because they just showed him walking around the city at night. Also he is the one who announces to the court that Kate asked Anna to not give her the kidney.

The guy who played Brian was also good, and Sara's sister is in the film a lot more than the book which I thought was a nice touch.

The soundtrack is heartbreaking btw, half the time I had tears in my eyes just from the songs!!

I just think its pretty impressive that the actress who plays Kate actually shaved her head and eyebrows for the film.

Not many adults would do that for a role and shes like 16?? and the last time I saw her in medium she had really really long hair.

Book ending:

After winning emancipation, Anna rides home in the car with Campbell. Brian (who is also a paramedic in the book) gets a call at the hospital and has to leave Kate. He goes to find a car crash- it's Campbell and Anna. Campbell pulls through, but Anna goes into a vegetative state, and Brian and Sara decide to turn off her life support machine. Campbell tells them that they should give her kidney to Kate, thinking that Anna had wanted to all along. So they do, and Kate lives. She goes into remission and stays there. The final chapter is the only chapter from Kate's POV and is written in 2010. She speaks of how Anna died so she wouldn't have to, and how she took her place in heaven.
