ability to run with me later on? When he jumped he wined a lot and sounded legitimately hurt. I'm literally bawling right now I'm so upset...I should have been paying better attention to him. He can walk on it, but he limps. When I move his legs around he does not make any noises or show any discomfort though. Now he is sleeping in his crate. Assuming, worse case, that his leg (or heck even a rib) is broken will this affect his ability to jog with me later in life? I got him as a running companion. I have such big dreams for him to be such a healthy muscular dog that it kills me to think that I just f&*ked it up because I wasn't paying attention.
i realize that because of the question that i posted on here it may seem like my main concern is that my dog may not be able to run someday. however, that is far from the case. for the people that must know, the closest 24 hour animal hospital to here is 2 hours away and i plan on going to my vet when they open in the morning. i'm upset because i have to watch my baby limp and that kills me. it kills me that i don't know if he's actually hurt or not (he seems like he's not in pain). the reason that i am asking this question is because i am thinking about the safety of my dog in the f&*king future. i'm not upset about the fact that he may not be able to run with me (although that does suck), but i do want to know if it is going to be SAFE for my dog to ever run if he actually does have a break. please dont tell me i dont care about my dog. thanks.
