My Orion 13" keeps changing channels?

It does not matter if I press power, the channel buttons, the volume buttons, or try to start the menu...it still continually runs through channels. It is like it is set in a continuous programming mode. There are no buttons stuck, and no serious changes. It was not dropped, moved, or hit at any time. It worked with DirecTV for the longest time. Does any one know what to do? Would it be better for a TV Repair Shop to fix it?
 
I have a television that does that when the batteries in the remote get low. Even removing the batteries from the remote does not stop it and the first time it happensed, it would turn itself on, in the middle of the night not less, and scare the hell out of me. I finally unplugged it and ow and behold, when I plugged it back in the next day, it didn't do that any more, until the batteries in the remote went dead again, about 6 months later.
As far as I can figure, unplugging it resets something inside the television so the minute it starts acting up, I replace the batteries and unplug the TV. After a few hours. I plug it back in and I am good to go.
It is a cheap fix and worth a try anyway.
