I work in a bakery as a cashier. It's not flashy but it's not very stressful, the hours are great, and it pays some of the bills. I was a retail manager for awhile and I ended up suffering from a severe nervous breakdown. Anyways, this job has been nice for me. It's a small crew and the owners are fantastic.
My beef? Even though I'm no longer the newest employee(thus the lowest on the totem pole), I'm officially the only one who's not being crosstrained in other areas of the store and whenever someone else needs extra hours, it's my hours that are chipped away. I know it's not because I'm a poor worker, my bosses compliment me all the time and tell everyone else that I'm the most dependable one there(I've never called off a shift and I'm almost never late).
I have never had a job before where my growth within the company has been so stunted. I have no idea what to do. Seriously I don't.
Should I quit and find a new job or should I lay low, do my usual good performance, and wait for the brownnosers to finally break the camel's back thus giving me more perks and hours?
