I am so upset...I just got a device that allows me to listen to my ipod in the car for christmas yesterday, only problem is that the device connects to the cigarette outlet. All of a sudden both my cigarette outlet and my other outlet in my car do not work. They were both working fine the other day, as I had my cell phone charging through them. I'm guessing I probably blew a fuse? How much does it cost to repair and please tell me its effortless? I'm so scared my dad won't fix it, or fix it anytime soon - which pretty much means an entire year waiting for this christmas present gone to waste. And now I cannot even charge my cell phone :(

you could try driving to an auto parts store and have them find the problem likely a fuse, if u look in the fuse panel under the hood under the steering wheel or in the glove box the cover should have a fuse diagram that will say the number for the slot for the cig lighter.

99% of the time it is a blown fuse,if you have the vehicles owner book which is usually in the glove compartment, go to the index, under "Fuses" it will tell you exactly where every fuse is located by # and what amp size it is. Ex. it will say Cigg. lighter #16 15amp fuse. go to the store you get a set off a variety of amps from $1.99-$6 depending on how fancy you want them, there are some that glow when they are blown that way you dont have to look for it ,you know exactly which one it is. I reccomend those.

You blew a fuse.
its like $2? and just go through your fuse box and look for the blown fuse... then just replace it with one of the same size "some fuse boxes come with extra fuses" its probably around a 10 to a 15 amp fuse.
