My car subs all of the sudden cut in and out...?

I have 2 10" jl audio subs 10w0
Amplifier: Alpine MRP-M350
Speakers: Alpine Type S Speakers SPS-17 C2
Head Unit: Pioneer deh-p6800MP

I have had them for over 2 years and they have ran perfectly up until recently when i was driving on the freeway and all of the sudden they just turned off......then randomly they will turn on again and will stay on until i turn the volume up past 19 than they cut out again.....i checked the fuses on the amp and there fine.... any ideas of what is wrong?

sounds like it's cutting into thermal protect. try moving the amp somewhere that it can get ventilation.
