...i make this work? I just bought it. It says av jack is available on the box but there is no outlet. only a small usb outlet that they provide a converter to a normal sized usb port for. i have tried connecting it through the bottom. which didnt work then i even bought an av line with a usb on the other end and it still didn't play it. if anyone ever had something like this or has any advice on the situation, itd be appreciated.

you tried plugging a usb device (memory stick, ipod) in and seeing if it will play music off that? thats how it sounds like its meant to work to me.

To use the USB input on most, you have to be playing from a USB flash drive. You could also play mp3s from a cd, burned in that format.

What is the brand and model number of the head unit.

all mp3 players have a usb port....all you need is a usb cable to plug into your mp3 and usb port on stereo......some will play mp3 songs automatically...some have different options like....radio,cd plyer..or auxillary....if yours is this type,I believe you have to have it in aux. mode to play mp3
