My Body

The first paragraph is easy for a man to say. Easy because it is not your body, you are not the one that is going to be pregnant, you are not the one that has to take care of the infant. Easy because men can just get up and leave. They do it all the time. "I just cant handle this" blah blah blah

So you know what, if I wanted a MANS opinion on abortion, I would tell him to go get pregnant.

Yes there is birth control. My first son was a birth control baby, because nobody told me that certain medicines make the pill ineffective.

You have every right to be enraged. I support that it is your body and your choice. Anybody who does not believe this does not respect women.

I am very proud of your Dad.

I totally agree with you. By the way, I am a 58 year old man.

You = uneducated bigot.

Murder; the unlawful taking of a human life.

1. Abortion isn't illegal.
2. By the biological meaning of the word "life" a first tri-mester fetus isn't capable of sustaining its own selft. Hence it's not alive so there is no "life" to be taken.

So if it's not alive it can't be murder. If it's not illegal it can't be murder.

Why use the biological definition of life? Because the theological definitions are vague, nondescript and ever changing. One church says this, another says this, they say that and you say something else. The biological definition is nice and fixed regardless of where you're coming from.

yes i want abortion eliminated. No i think other methods other then abstinence should be taught, i understand its not a realistic expectation and that by education is the only way to eradicate the problem. Actually i have a tattoo and think they are a wonderful form of expression.

Well actually no but let me explain. Yes ill admit my first comment was contradicting BUT, i am bound by 2 conflicting moral views. First being that the murder of an unborn child is wrong and the other being that God gave all man free will. Meaning i don't believe in restricting what a human can and cant do. I do not approve of the abortion and work to eradicate it, but through education not laws, rules, and limitations.

on the judgment note i do not approve of abortion but have a strong belief in " Loving thy neighbor as Thyself" so while i may judge peoples motives for abortion ( not saying i should or that its right ) i try not to judge them as a person.

I don't know what's more of a waste of oxygen: a pro-lifer or a proponent of intelligent design. What? They're all the same "people"?

by all means, let's take people off of life support then too! they clearly are not capable of "sustaining" themselves to they must not be alive.

death to vegetables? that's not what the church says. too bad i'm religious.

By the very definition of the word 'murder,' abortion is nowhere close. You are ignorant, and allow your religious myths to lead you into illogical opinions.

Abortion is not murder, anyone who can't grasp that concept obviously lacks the the ability to think logically.

I want religion eliminated. Does that make me right, or give me the right to impose my beliefs on others? How would you like it if someone took away your right to practice your religion? I assume you wouldn't be too happy about it, so why do you think you have the right to impose your opinions about abortion on others?

And yes, I read where you said you didn't want abortion eliminated through laws and restrictions, but you're contradicting yourself. It's unrealistic to think abortion will go away without laws to prevent it.
I don't believe he said that at all. Is your point so weak you need to put words in someone else's mouth to justify your opinion?

At the stage of pregnancy in which abortions take place, the "baby" is nothing more than a zygote; a mass of cells, nothing more. If that's what you consider 'human life' then I suggest you go back and take a 6th grade biology class. That mass of cells lacks the two qualities by which we quantify human life; the ability to survive on it's own, and cognition.

Your life support analogy is also a bad one; you're comparing someone who has lived a full life, to a mass of cells without the cognitive abilities to even acknowledge it's own existence. I'd hardly call that a valid point...

On a side note, I think it's despicable that crazy religious types would keep someone alive artificially even when the person didn't want to be resuscitated, or it became apparent that they would not survive. You would think someone with the thoughts of magical super beings engraved into their mind would be happy to see their loved ones go to be with the magical man in the sky.

Though its not really my place to say anything I will.(I'll work on passing a Watermelon through my colon later.)

It is a woman's body. I don't care what anyone says. Abortion is alot better then having an unwanted child born to a life that can't afford him attention or food or clothing. Which would you rather have abortion or a suicide? And abortion would have served a greater purpose if stem cell research would have been allowed! But the right wing bible thump fuck everything up movement's idiot golden child Pres.Bush vetoed that now didn't he?

Those who act like saints need to see what the prerequisite is first. You have to do something helpful and holy assholes! Not fuck everyone else's life up.

Do not pretned your shit can heal the disease and cleanse the waters. Its just as bad as the rest of ours.

No, the church says "DON'T LET THEM DIE NO MATTER WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE THEIR OPINIONS DON'T MATTER! DO WHAT WE SAY BECAUSE WE'LL JUDGE YOU OTHERWISE!"

But funnier is that you assume because I'm pro-choice that means I'm pro-abortion. Hmmmm... Funny how bigots can't discern the difference there.

Funnier yet is how you thinnk my being pro-choice equates to me wanting to kill all comotose patients. Here's a hint: it's the family's CHOICE. If you want to sustain a pregnancy by all means do it. If you want to sustain a comatose patient on life support by all means, go right on ahead. I'm not going to interfere with your decisions because it's none of my concern. But don't force your beliefs on me. I don't want to be kept alive on life support. And you shouldn't have the right to tell my family any different. And if a mother makes an informed decisions to terminate a pregnancy what makes you think you have ANY right to tell her she can't?

I believe in Euthenasia. I'm a proponent for assisted suicide when it comes from an informed decision. I'm a proponent for the woman's right to choose what happens to her body too.

Let me ask you this since you're obviously religious. If God is all loving, why would he be opposed to someone who's terminally ill and in great pain ending their lives to ease their pain? Or is God not all loving after all? Or are you just forcing your views on the rest of the world?

I see, is that a well formed well reasoned argument by a religious fanatic? Or since you were unable to develop any logical arguments you had to resort to climbing up on your high horse and name calling. What's next, are you going to pray for me too?

good idea. altho i think youre going to need quite a few of those to do you any good... lol :)

i'm not really trying to impose my views on anyone... i just say what's on my mind. how you take it is really up to you.

there aint no disguising the truth"
