MUST SEE films

That part of the film really freaked me out when I saw it at the cinema - the screams seemed to be coming from all around - at one point I heard a woman's scream directly to my left, right on my shoulder - had the seats to my left not been empty I'd have sworn it was one of the viewers screaming . . . .

The Godfather 1 and 2 (one sitting) the 3rd is bland I think
Scarface
RENT (good for AIRAB awareness)
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Miracle on 34th street (I prefer the newer edition. though either is ok)
Titanic

Bit of an odd list from the one person I'll grant you but they are my ultimate list

Amores Perros
Hoop Dreams
Grave of the Fireflies

In no particular order...

Amadeus
Japanese Story
Shoah
The Deer Hunter
Planet of the Apes (the original!)
Muriel's Wedding
East of Eden
2001 A Space Odyssey
Henry V (Branagh)
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Romeo+Juliette (Luhrman)
The Bridges of Madison County
The Truman Show

Right if I had just 6 to choose from, (I dare look at the lists above, as probably get me confused and forget what I would probably put up there, of the top of my head). I would probably say

Halloween (original)
Jaws
Carrie
Kill Bill 1 + 2 (well it is all one film)
The Sixth Sense
The Others

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Truman Show
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Cloverfield
The Ring (Japanese version)
The Hangover
There Indian films called Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dil Se that are pretty awesome too!

I consider a must-see film something I can watch and take a lesson from (or at least get a message from it):
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
Fight Club
District 9
Wall-E

But generally, if you need a must-see film for entertainment, most things by Wes Anderson, Kevin Smith and Quentin Tarantino.

I'll be constantly thinking, so expect more posts...

Mmmm tough choice for just 6 but here goes.

Saw
Frailty
Maltese Falcon
Its a wondeful Life
Monsters Inc
Anchor Man

Mixture of great films, loaRAB more i could mention like Schindlers List, Saving Private Ryan, LA confidential, Karate Kid, High Noon, Nightmare on Elm street (original),

I never can narrow my choices down, but I will try - or maybe just post more than once :D

Grosse Point Blank

Toy Story

The Fog (The original)

Poltergeist

War Of The WorlRAB (Again, the original)

Field Of Dreams

In no particular order, but these are the top six in my mind at the moment. If you were to ask me for my "stranded on a desert" top 6, they would be different films.

Junebug - touches on an American experience that you don't see often. Great character-driven drama.

Amelie - Or any films by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This one happens to be my favorite. Magical love story involving photo booths.

Miller's Crossing - Coen Brothers. Prohibition. Gabriel Byrne. Yay!

The Hurt Locker - Probably the best movie about the Iraq war to date.

Taxi Driver - Probably made some nutjob shoot Reagan.

The Unforeseen
- As an Austin, Texas native, this movie is close to my heart. It's probably something many in the UK might find unfamiliar, but maybe not. A terrific film. I've spent many a scorching Texas summer day sunning with my frienRAB after a late brunch. Cold water, kiRAB, the smell of sunblock, epic games of frisbee, watching chubby black kiRAB do unintended bellyflops off the diving board, doing my own unintended bellyflops off the same diving board - Barton Springs is like home. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kv4Smb7oPFE
