Must I convert to Christianity to be fully assimilated into American culture?

Help me out. I see the USA as a gradient that starts from the center, with the center being the most religious and the east coast gradient ending faster (more religious than the west). I figure being in the west coast I can just be an on the fly Catholic, but in middle of America something more in your face like pentecostal
