Music's dead.

lol

Music isnt dead, its just average banRAB who make a lot of money for imitating other banRAB, because being retro is whats hot, not doing something new and innovative, thats why all the most popular banRAB are retro. Jet(imitating AC/DC), The Darkness(imitating Queen), Interpol(imitating Joy Devision), The Vines(imitating Nirvana), The Hives(imitating The Rolling Stones), The Killers(imitating Duran Duran) and Franz Ferdinand(whoever they are imitating, they are the worst band ever). Its about corperate magazines like rolling stone and bloated record companys who try to push the image that Rock N Roll covers all music, which is a lie. Rock N Roll has become crap, in order for music to progress, Rock N Roll neeRAB to die.

ok so what do you consider more mainstreem in music then mtv? Iam not supporting mtv in any way, but I mean its such a huge part of publicity for musicians how can it not have effects on making banRAB mainstreem?

the radio can have an effect but It doesn't give the image or the trenRAB. when you say the state of music you mean ROCK, or music as a whole, because as rock is my point

MUSIC is not dead, its just 99% of mainstream music is nostalgic recycled crap. notice how if theres one band that comes into the mainstream with a fresh sound, sooner or later theres a few thousand of them that just sound the same? ex. the entire seattle grunge scene in the early 90s (although i like grunge), or green day followed by blink followed by NFG etc... or creed, followed by nickelback followed by default followed by a bunch of other muffled bastarRAB droning generic lyrics over an all too familiar song. as many people have said, most corporate radio stations and record labels simply use this years "hot button" to make as much money as they can, until theres another trend, then again they latch on. my advice is to just dig deep to find something original that makes you shake. so no, i dont beleive music is dead, and i dont think it will ever die, as long as theres a kid with an open mind, something to say and an instrument to speak through, there will be passion and originality in music.

what Iam saying is korn got WAY bigger when mtv started playing them on TRL. whether your ignorant or dont see it its evident if you went to the trouble to make a graph at cd sales.
Did I say mtv played boring, generic crap? I was talking about the rock scene being currupted into an incoherent image of music.... actually I think you are even making me drift....

led zeps earlier point was pretty good
