I loooooooooooove musicals!!!! So :yay: for this thread! :D

I can't wait to see 'Mama Mia!' in the theater :)

I never saw High School Musical. I feel like I may be too old for it

I loved Les Miserables. I like the movie with Liam Neeson, but I still wish it was made into a musical rather than a regular movie

I used to be like that! My teacher made it watch it class but I didn't like the color scheme, of it so I never paid attention. I thought it was dull, but when I really watched it, I loved it.

omg, Mary Poppins!!!! I LOVE mary Poppins!!!! I just went to a sing along for it at n old theater in my town, and it was soooooooooooooo fun.

Wow. I'm such a musical dork.

I tried to watch My Fair Lady before but fell asleep. I want to give it a second chance, though.

Little Lo -

It's very odd to see a bad musical because you realize there's people dancing and singing while doing laundry or walking down the street. Good musicals make it seem natural and beautiful. It's a very fine line movie musicals walk.

Disney owned my childhood. Those songs...

aww i liked the Cinderella with Brandy...it was a big part of my childhood. Although i usually love anything that lets me hear Whitney sing lol and i love Brandy

when I was taking a musical class they showed a brief scene of An American in Paris and I didn't like it. It was some kind of dancing scene and it bored me.

my favorite musicals are wicked, RENT,Legally Blonde, and Beauty ant the beast! I am in beaty and the beast and it is one of the most fun plays i have been in!! The first show is in 7 days! Ahhh...

Hi guys I'm new! Sorry to just drop in and start talking...

Musicals. When they are good they are very very good and when they are bad they are horrid!

I really loved Hedwig and the angry Inch. That was a musical that made me feel like Modern Musicals could happen and be relevant and fun. It made me believe that people didn't have to just keep remaking the old favorites.

High School Musical. My little cousins forced me to watch it and I actually had fun. :)

Mary Martin's Peter Pan, Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella, The Disney Classics... These were all musicals I grew up to. :) Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music too. :)

 It's one of those things!

I watched Annie soooooooooooooooooo many times when I was a kid. OMG... It became a vice! Just like Mary Poppins. Total obsession!:D

I guess this is the best place to place this question...

Anyone seen "High School Musical"?

Um...yeah. It was a Disney Made-for-tv movie aired this year.
Cheesy plot, lyrics aren't great, the lip-synching is sometimes off, but after all that the energy of the music and the dance numbers are highly addicting.

It's the musical that you'll say "It's awful, but for some reason, I like it..."

I'm a huge fan of musicals. Favourites include...man...
My Fair Lady, Les Miserables (see the 10th Anniversary Concert...buy it on EBay if you can, I swear, it's worth it), Sound of Music, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, RENT, Chicago...

In terms of MOVIE versions, Chicago has to be marked as the the best MODERN one. It revitalized the concept..though I don't think RENT lived up to it so much.
Moulin Rouge was alright.

Classics are, most definitely, Wizard of Oz (I consider that a musical), Sound of Music, Annie (the first one), and Grease. I haven't been able to watch "Singing in the Rain" all the way through. Guys and Dolls was pretty good too.

I'm pretty familiar with most musicals.

And for a completely random movie which can give a good laugh:
The Pajama Game
It's an old movie that my mom picked up from the library. It's a musical movie, kind of a lame plot, but it's worth it to watch. And a perfect mock-movie. Meaning, you can have a riot making jokes about the lyrics, or the plot parts. They aren't bad. They are just funny cuz they're cheesy.

Oooh a Musicals thread!

I've seen a bunch and done a bunch as well. I've loved them since I was a kid.

I haven't seen Wicked yet though and I reallllly want to.
