MuchMoreRetro & MuchLOUD to be Removed in Sept.

These 30 day/next bill cycle/deal with is because we are Bell policies need to go away.

What REALLY pisses me off is I switched to ExpressVu last November because they had MuchLOUD and MuchMoreRetro. Now I hear they are getting rid of them!

I'm seriously considering switching to Rogers.

Using the internet archive Bell ExpressVu used to be listed on the muchmoreretro site back in March 2007 and was removed after that point.

Why would the message only shows on the English bills? I received my bill last week and there was nothing about it

I said "lost" because Bell "lost" my money. I took it from them. $21 of revenue per month. Looks like they're going to claim a $1 of it back because I hear they're going to give us the west coast feeds standard - no choice, and raise the digital basic package by $1. (saw that). They "lose" - I don't.

I decided to let my little voice be heard. I don't watch much TV anyways. Always had Loud or Retro on in the background. I was watching Punch Much for 10 minutes the other day - no one was texting in and there were times when no one had voted for any song, so I can't imagine that's a "hot" channel either.... Much Music and Much More Music don't seem to show videos much now - so I'll get my fix from iTunes or YouTube...

I'm just glad I was able to remove my programming packages... It looks like you "have to" subscribe to a lot of programming now when you get an install - but it was confirmed to me here on my other thread, as well as by the agent when I called in that I would receive no extra penalties to downgrade my service to basic plus one specialty channel as of October 4th (the next billing cycle). Thank goodness.

..and when I move to Chicago - I'll be rid of Bell... and this thread is just to explain my previous post and not intended to offend anyone - I like everyone here... :) Just explaining myself.

That stinks MrGrinch! I hope they do something for you if they drop these.
Please be sure to let us Know.

I'm English only and my bill had nothing about the removal of MuchMoreRetro. I'll check my next bill that should arrive soon.

I gave punchmuch a shot as well... but all of those stupid standard screen graphics would surely do burn-in damage to my set over time.

The other thing I have done is set my daily vupass pvr to record the muchretro morning programming on muchmoremusic so that I always have a stock of them to watch as background music as well.

What channel is BiteTV... is it even on ExpressVu yet?

I almost came back to Bell, but didn't since there won't be a MuchMoreRetro to enjoy.

One last question, if Telus TV has it, how will they continue to get it? I was under the impression that Expressvu provided the bulk of the signals for Telus.

They can't eliminate 2 channels without adding 2 new ones?
Can they? (Oh ya-I forgot-it's Bell)
I may be mistaken, but did ctvglobemedia or whatever they are called just purchase the Much channels?
If so, why is BellExpressvu eliminating 2 of there OWN channels?

Nothing is up. The channels are being dropped so that Bell can be in compliance with the 5:1 rule regarding category 2 digital channels. They probably have enough english and ethnic catigory 2 digital channels to keep the remaining channels.

Billing in advance, maybe. I have never had another company refuse to accept an adjusted billing amount without penalty.

I could tell you know what we would told him... Sorry Sir we appologise that those channels are no longer available, if you want we could revise your programming package and change that theme to another theme that would more suit you needs. Do you have an e-mail adress so that I could e-mail you the programming guide? ...

AEV, I don't know what you are talking about. I canceled before the end of the billing cycle and still got billed in advance for the next month. I only adjusted the payment for the services dropped and still got a late payment fee. Only Bell would pull a stunt like this.

Mr Grinch Bite TV is channel 530

Mac Dude the West Coast feed are now part of the Digital Standard and the Digital Standard's new price is , as you mentionned 1$ more (for 32$)

There was no official info about this, so it is only a personal comment, but I think that the client won't automatically get the 1$ increase. The new clients will be suscribed on the new 32$ Digital Standard and clients that were already susbribed will keep it at 31$. We have to wait for the official answer, probably in a few days

So it is a ratio thing. Are there any category 2 channels that BEV could add to comply with the ratio?

These are the CHUM category 2 channels:
  • Court TV
  • Drive-in Classics
  • MuchLoud
  • MuchMoreRetro
  • MuchVibe
  • PunchMuch
  • TV Land
It figures they would drop my two favourites from that list.

RRRrrrr... went to watch my fave channel last night on BELL and it was gone! Much More Retro was cut, they had some silly message on the guide in the 500's and that was the onl warning.

Not impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... and then I would say "please cancel my $110/month account... I'm switching to MTS who carries this channel". Bell better be prepared to offer some serious compensation to keep me as a customer.

Y'know I just had an LNB damaged due to a huge hailsorm in Winnipeg last night. That wouldn't have happened if I had cable. Maybe now is the perfect time to switch.

Don't worry it will all be over soon. After you cancelled your Express Vu service give it a few Months and you should not have to deal with them again.

I suspect that because Shaw & SC cut this channel, it must have impacted their subscriber base.
