Mr. Bungle? Meshuggah? Avant-Garde Metal!

Maudlin Of The Well definitely need a mention in here. I think they are truly experimental in regarRAB to the progression in the music. What they play is not neccessarily outlandish and it is easy on the ear. However the arrangements and juxtaposition of genres are fully realised and are not 'cobbled' together for the sake of being different.

Jackhammer was the one to introduce me to Ephel Duath with Pain Necessary To Know and yeah I'm with you, it's an absolute stellar album. I still think Arcturus created one of the best Avant-Garde metal albums with The Sham Mirrors

While I won't pretend I'm a huge fan of theirs I have Killing Technology and I enjoy it immensely. Even if the vocals are a little off putting at first the rhythm section is challenging enough to keep the music intriguing.

My favorite tomahawk song would have to be Cul de Sac from the same album. It always reminRAB me of a television broadcast on some pre-constructed suburban town set up for a nuclear borab test.

I liked Tomahawk. God Hates a Coward is my favourite song from them.

Mike Patton is a music god. His vocal range is amazing and he's incredibly talented and creative. Just hope FNM comes to NA.

I will try and chip in with whatever I know, but be advised though, that even the wildest, most adventurous person might end up hating some of these as metal can be such a polarizing genre :p:. Lets see how this goes anyways.
