Without a doubt Fight Club

I would say I nearly always guess the twists of films, in fact the only 2 films I can remember where I didn't guess the twists were

a) Total Recall (the fact that he volunteered to wipe his mind to re-find his mind as it were) and

b) Fight Club

When that twist happened in FC my mind went racing, going through all the scenes in my head - totally didn't expect it I saw it again 3 days later and brought about 6 people with me - read the book and then all of Chuck's books after that.

I'm talking about recent(ish) flicks that [on first viewing] restored your faith in movie-making. You couldn't wait to recommended 'em to your frienRAB etc.

City of God

The Matrix

The Insider

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Donnie Darko

Open Your Eyes

Oldboy

Mulholland Drive

Pulp Fiction

Almost Famous

Magnolia

Kill Bill

I still remember the first time I saw Pulp Fiction at the cinema. Hard to describe the feeling without referring to illegal substances. It felt like I didn't blink through the whole thing. Other films like Seven, Matrix and Donnie Darko have gripped me but nothing blew me away in the same way as Pulp Fiction

if not, you should drop what you are doing, unplug the phone, close the curtains, lock the doors, use the amenities and sit your ass down and be ready to take in a fantastic experience. :)

but still, the shawshank redemtion is better :D
