Movies so bad you've walked out of the cinema.

Walked out of Willow (many many years ago),

Brady Bunch Movie (boyfriend at time was desperate to see it, for me it was the equivalent of nails being scratched down a blackboard from the opening credits)

Thin Red Line (don't shout, I am sure its excellent if you are into that kind of film, but we're not so we walked out and straight into You've Got Mail....also dross but for me more watchable!)

Saw the stage version of Chicago and fell asleep, saw the film version of Chicago and fell asleep, watched the DVD of chicago and fell asleep...there is something about that storyline....

also turned off the DVRAB Catwoman (so, so dire) and the remake of Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory (there was no need for this film to be remade, especially not like this! The original is a CLASSIC)
 
It is possible to both love film and want to be entertained. Unfortunately The English Patient is a flatulent and overrated piece of work. I've seen it twice and despite the undoubted quality of the acting of Fiennes and Binoche I've never understood why it was so lauded at the time.

I would have walked out of "Stop or my mom will Shoot" starring sylvester stalone but i fell asleep and the rest of the audience walked past me, usherette woke me up and i swore at the then b/f for sneaking out and leaving me alone and snoring

Collateral...Too much hype and too little to show for it. Aside from the decent opening sequence and the music, it was an endless journey on the boredom train.
 
I've only ever walked out of one movie...

I think I lasted 15 minutes.

The closest I've ever come to walking out without actually leaving was Moulin Rouge. I couldn't leave because I was with a friend who wanted to see it.

It was plot-less, histrionic and the editing actually made my eyes hurt. I left the cinema literally feeling sick. I imagined that's how the Warren Beatty character felt, after the brainwashing sequence in The Parallax View.
 
This post burns my eyes and makes baby Jesus cry. I'll third the "masterpiece" suggestion for SC.

Still, I'll let someone do the same to me:

I walked out of Velvet Goldmine.... a film that will go down as officially the most bored I've ever been - and not just in a cinema... ever.

I wish I'd walked out of Hitchhikers Guide - but alas I didn't. I was a fool. I think the horror of how much it had been 'dumbed-down' rooted me to the seat.
 
I did fall asleep briefly during The Constant Gardener, not because the film dragged, just that it the cinema was extremely dark

The funny thing was it was a free Telegraph screening, so I saw it a couple of months before it came out. The projectionist got the tape mixed up and started playing In Her Shoes, another free preview for the next day

Imagine the uproar of the audience. There was a mass exodus and people were complaining. Bear in mind that the tickets were free and it was a pre release screening. Eventually they fetched the cinema staff who apoligised profusely and 10 minutes later, The Constant Gardener came on. Not one person walked out during it

The following week at another free screening, this time Mrs Henderson Presents, about 20 people walked out. This was due to the fact that they had given more tickets away than seats, and they won't let people sit in the aisles due to fire and health and safety risks

There are some movies so bad that you just have to watch (at least once):

Scary Movie

There are others but they don't come to mind at the moment

Nearly walked out of Spiderman 2 after he stopped the train and everyone knew who he was but all swore never to tell, Yeah riiiiiight!! and it was too damn preachy!
 
Elephant is the WORST movie I have ever seen. I'm not into the whole 'art' movies then. It was just so boring watching the schoolkiRAB walk around corridors, so if I had watched this at a cinema I would have walked out after 10 minutes...

Oh and also, House of 1000 corpses and Devils rejects... if I had seen these at the cinema I would have walked out, so rubbish!!! Lucky I didn't see them at the cinema.

I have never walked out of a cinema thought, I usually only go to see movies if they look like good fun or entertainment.
 
Maybe I just didnt "get it", but honestly I just did not like it. I waited 'till Clive Owen had been in it (thought he was a great actor since he was in Privateer 2: The Darkening (great game)) and gave up after that.
 
I walked out on:

The Blair Witch Project (sick of that bloody woman always screaming)
Tomb Raider (just plain dire)
The Day After Tomorrow (...need I say anymore?)

Just no pleasing me, is there? :)
 
Well I recall lots of comparisons with Lawrence of Arabia and other epics.

The difference though is that I could go home right now and watch LoA and be completely entertained. The English Patient was just too dull.

It's a bit like Gladiator and the comparisons to Ben Hur but I thought Gladiator wasn't a patch on it, except for the scenes by Ollie Reed which were very good.
