Motivation?

zolly, i think you'd really like "Garden State" if you haven't seen it already. What you're talking about reminds me of the main character. I've been that numb a few times, but never for very long.

And sorry, East, i gotta disagree. Feeling things is a good thing. Reacting is a good thing.

give yourself a hug for me, zolly

Sorry, but the first movie I thought of was Office Space after he's put in that trance.

And yes, reacting is a good thing, but I truly believe it depends on the situation.

Garden state is an excellent movie, and especially regarding this, Tostig, good call.
Unfortunately zolly, I have no inspiring words for you, to get your motivation back in gear, I had it for awhile, and everything sorted just went past me, and then one day I realised I missed a lot, and got out of it.
I hope things go okay for you zolly.

go shit in someone elses thread.

like me.. reacting is a baaad thing :D

he could have meant it's a good thing that the bad situations don't phase you. basically, he would be right as long as your seeing them as another part of life, and not letting those bad instances consume your life and thoughts. but then again, it could be better if they did phase you, as then you could use those to help you better yourself.

after i moved back to arizona from texas, leaving my daughter behind with her mother, i went around for about 4 months in a fog. i'd call and talk to my kid every weekend, work, and sit in my apartment and do nothing (i had no tv). then one night, riding my bicycle home from work, i got hit by a car. Twisted my bike, banged me up but thankfully didn't break anything, and the guy took off. (he came out of a parking lot without looking and ran into me). In that instant, i seemed to wake up. I think it was the shock of "oh hell, i just got hit by a car again".

Now i'm not saying to go out and get hit by a car, but sometimes a shock is what's needed to break through the funk and haze that seems to have us enveloped. Maybe try to overcome a phobia. Or just jump in your car one weekend (or days off, wheneveR) and just drive. I used to drive til i was almost out of gas, then fill up and head home. Try to outrun the fog. Something needs to change.

same here, but this thread is to help zolly, not for you to shit in. so take a break, ok? i just didn't like what you said and the dumbass in me said that your post wasn't needed.

good day.

I said Good Day!

You all need to edit your posts and put something constructive about the topic at hand. if you wanna assfuck each other, please make your own thread.

Stop shitting in the thread and stop ARGUING about shitting in the thread or we're gonna have a whole bunch of new Double Caged farmers damnit.

Zolly,

I think BCB's advice was the best. Think deep about something you'd love to do, or something you're afraid to do but intrigues you. It could be art, seeing a different country, writing, botony etc... Find something that piques your interest and see what you like.

Go back to your councelor. Or find a different one. The fact that you were motivated enough to post this says there's something in you that wants to come out and play and be happy. So find it and never let go!
