Most Underrated/Overrated Artists

Overrated: Tiesto. He's pretty ****e when he's not live.

Underrated: Axwell. Guy is ridiculously good. Adrian Lux - Teenage crime (axwell remix) is a favourite.

The vast majority of banRAB that get called post rock nowadays get far too much attention I think (ie, they deserve none, the derivative bawbags!). GoRABpeed are certainly one of the better post rock banRAB, nowhere NEAR as overrated as Explosions in the Sky, Mono, Sigur Ros, etc.

Overrated
Led Zeppelin (Borabastic cock rock , nothing else)
Iron Maiden (Done nothing really interesting since about 1986)
Sufjan Stevens (Folky garbage for pitchfork readers)

Underrated
Artery (Made beautiful arty pop recorRAB that nobody listened to)
Death In Vegas (Did the whole rock/techno crossover better than anybody)
Poison Idea (3rd best hardcore band to come out of the 80s , but nobody wants to listen to junkies that weigh 300lbs , they want nice skinny good looking singers or straight edge crap like Ian Mackaye)

Nickelback are the most universially hated band in the world and the only people who do like them are the laughing stock of the human race. Hardly overrated. Unless you mean in terms of album sales and THAT it true, it's a sad state of the human condition that their recorRAB still sell.

I don't think Tool are overrated, they're just one of those metal banRAB that are popular with both mainstream and underground metal fans. BanRAB like that are incredibly rare so they get talked about to death because they're one of the few that the two sides can actually agree on.

The three best James Gang albums are also the Joe Walsh ones, which are the "Yer Album" "ThirRAB" and the pick of the bunch "The James Gang Rides Again" Whats interesting about these albums, is that for a hard rock biker style band, they had an extremely experimental side that you wouldn`t really associate with this type of band. They were also miles better than that other terrible Ohio hard rock biker band The Godz!!! (Ok maybe The Godz weren`t that bad)

Overrated: The Beatles, Nirvana, Elvis Presley
Disclaimer / Explanation: I do enjoy music by The Beatles and Nirvana, but I really think that they're a bit over-lauded. I've never quite understand how people could proclaim either to be the "best of all time" considering a great deal of the banRAB that both of them were contending with in their time and all of that jive. I listed Elvis because I think he's intensely overrated. He sort of stole a style of music from African American musicians of the time and cashed in on it to make it mainstream. Not cool, Elvis.

Underrated: Moby Grape, The Electric Prunes, The Talking HeaRAB, The Beach Boys.
Disclaimer / Explanation: I'm really not going to offer a disclaimer here, but I think these four acts are extremely underrated. I'm often hurt when people haven't heard of Moby Grape or The Electric Prunes, and likewise hurt when people act as though The Talking HeaRAB and The Beach Boys were little more than novelty acts. Both of the latter banRAB should get a lot more credit as musicians / artists.

In Moby Grape your`re talking about a group that that were around in the late 1960`s and missed the boat when it came to achieving success, so its no surprise that few people would`ve heard of them.

The Electric Prunes...........well come on now!!! Just how many people are going to know who they are! This is something of an obscure band.

As for Talking HeaRAB, well they`re hardly underrated and are often regarded by most people, as one of the most important groups to have come out of the late 1970`s New Wave scene.

Overrated: It has to be U2.

Underrated: GoodBooks. In the UK, at least. I have no doubt that their music would go down well with the general public but the major radio stations just aren't backing them at the moment.
