Most underrated cartoon?

Rocket Power, I liked the show yet many people don't. At least it got three or four seasons, no matter how unfairly treated it was by Nick :crying:

I remember both shows.

Mighty Orbots ran on ABC from Sept. 8, 1984 to Aug. 31, 1985. It was produced by TMS Entertainment and MGM/UA.

Space Cats ran on NBC from Sept. 14, 1991 to July 25, 1992. It was created by Paul Fusco (creator of ALF) and produced by Alien Studios and Marvel Productions. It also featured Charles Nelson Reilly as the Great D.O.R.C.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures - This show got dumped on very hard because Tony Stark was portrayed as a teenager, rather than an adult. Those expecting the show to be watered down and kiddy are dead wrong. This show is actually pretty good, with well done use of continuity, character development, and a big revamp of several of Iron Man's characters. Not up to The Spectacular Spider-Man quality, but a lot better than the 90's show.

Ed, Edd n Eddy
American Dad
Sit Down, Shut Up
Pepper Ann
The Critic
Freakazoid
Teacher's Pet
Corneil & Bernie
Dave the Barbarian
EEK the Cat
Jackie Chan Adventures
Mighty B
Teacher's Pet
Johnny Test
Mucha Lucha!

Pretty good underrated stuff.

How in the world is EEnE underrated? ALso completely I agree with Pepper Ann and Mighty B! Mucha Lucha and Dave the Barbarian weren't that bad either

Yugioh 5D's
Probably the least popular of the 3 YGO series,
but it's my favorite.
Even though card games on motorcycles is the most ridiculous thing you'll ever hear,
you don't really give it a thought a few episodes in.
(having the least non-main-plot-related episodes is also a plus)

I also agree with The Mighty B.
It has that nice old-school Nick feel,
and is pretty entertaining.
Good thing it got another season.

El Tigre
Didn't get past 26 episodes,
but it had my kind of humor,
and it was enjoyable to just lay like a lump on the couch and watch this.

Wakfu
I don't know if this really counts,
since it hasn't been released in the States,
but I've watched it in French and the animation & art never fails to astound.

Agree very much here. From what I saw, it was a very fun and clever cartoon. And Frida is one of Grey DeLisle's coolest and most underrated characters.

I actually found the Replacements enjoyable. It was lightweight and goofy without being annoying or having a hard to look at style.

I would say the Critic and Freakazoid!, but they get so much love from around here even though it wasn't a huge commercial success.

It had a long run, yes. But I don't think it really got the attention it deserved. I've never seen serious discussion about it and it always seemed like a show that was just there. It had a long life and I know many people loved it but outside of the fanbase you never see it brought up much.

Ooh, where to start.

Chalk Zone. A kid with magic chalk enters another universe on a chalkboard? There was so much potential. Too bad Nick treated the show like crap.
Dave the Barbarian. This show was great. Just from the theme song, I could tell that I was going to like it. It took alot of things from modern day and applied them to barbaric times. Again, treated like crap thanks to Disney (minus Disney) Channel.
Brandy and Mr. Whiskers. Another DC cartoon that I liked. It could be lame at times, but when it was funny, it was funny. Charlie Adler as Mr. Whiskers FTW.
Sit Down, Shut Up. Do I have to explain?
Mucha Lucha! I remember watching this show when it was on Kids WB. It could be forgettable at times, but for the most part, I enjoyed it. It also made fairly good use of Flash animation, considering it was one of the first US cartoons to do so.
Kirby: Right Back at Ya! The only video game based cartoon I actually liked. Sonic X just sucked compared to this.
Drawn Together. A bunch of cartoon characters living together in a reality tv show spoof? Come on! I thought that was brilliant.

That's all that comes to mind right now..

I can't think of any underrated TV cartoons, though I can think of an underrated animated movie: Planet 51. It seems to get a lot of hate on these boards, but it is really a humorous and interesting movie....

You don't see a serious discussion because it is not a serious show. "Just there"?. Did you see how many pages the talkback of Big Picture Show got?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Slacker Cats.

Yes, this show was out of place on ABC Family. Yes, it was very unpopular. But I liked it. The show had a laid-back sense of humor compared to other shows. The Flash animation wasn't that bad, either.
Thankfully, ABC Family didn't screw the show over and posted the remaining episodes on their site. Sadly, it's not working right now.

I have to pull four 80s cartoons out.

The Centurions: Power Extreme (4/7/1986 to 12/12/1986) [Intro]
This series is a gem that I think never realized it's full potential. As the series ended, it was becoming very, very arch driven which made it a monster well before its time. It's a series that I think if it ever got a remake could be EXTRAORDINARY.

M.A.S.K. (9/30/1985 to 11/26/1986) [Intro]
This series saw very little air time in a lot of markets, but in the markets it did, it was nearly as well accepted as G.I. Joe and Transformers. This series defiantly suffered a little too much from transformation sequences, but at least it was largely limited to one drawn out sequence per episode.

This series had some real nice early 80s Sci-Fi themes. Heck, its premier episode was about a meteor that crashed to Earth and had extraordinary healing properties.

Bionic 6
(9/8/1987 - 11/12/1987) [Intro]
This is a series that, like M.A.S.K., wasn't seen in a lot of markets. It got a nice run and rerun thanks to TBS, but it's heavy Sci-Fi driven themes were pretty intense for it's time.

Pole Position
(9/15/1984 - 12/8/1984) [Intro]
I'd wager that a large chunk of the rabroad community has at least seen the intro but probably never sat down and saw a whole episode of the series.

Well, let me tell you, for a 13 episode run, the script was very witty and very adult orientated for its time. It was probably the best of Knight Rider, The A Team and a gleaming of McGuver.

If anything, I think the series was a little too adult orientated and kids watching the series may have not have gotten the references.

1. Man and Machine, POWER EXTREME! I love that phrase. shame I have yet to see an episode.

2. Ah yes, M.A.S.K., what an interesting show that was. Good thing it's on Youtube.

3. Like the Centurions, I only saw the intro.

4. I saw an episode, looked like a Kinght Rider Rip off with Astrotrain's Voice actor in it.

Though it had two cars rather then one.
