I have to pull four 80s cartoons out.
The Centurions: Power Extreme (4/7/1986 to 12/12/1986) [
Intro]
This series is a gem that I think never realized it's full potential. As the series ended, it was becoming very, very arch driven which made it a monster well before its time. It's a series that I think if it ever got a remake could be EXTRAORDINARY.
M.A.S.K. (9/30/1985 to 11/26/1986) [
Intro]
This series saw very little air time in a lot of markets, but in the markets it did, it was nearly as well accepted as G.I. Joe and Transformers. This series defiantly suffered a little too much from transformation sequences, but at least it was largely limited to one drawn out sequence per episode.
This series had some real nice early 80s Sci-Fi themes. Heck, its premier episode was about a meteor that crashed to Earth and had extraordinary healing properties.
Bionic 6 (9/8/1987 - 11/12/1987) [
Intro]
This is a series that, like M.A.S.K., wasn't seen in a lot of markets. It got a nice run and rerun thanks to TBS, but it's heavy Sci-Fi driven themes were pretty intense for it's time.
Pole Position (9/15/1984 - 12/8/1984) [
Intro]
I'd wager that a large chunk of the rabroad community has at least seen the intro but probably never sat down and saw a whole episode of the series.
Well, let me tell you, for a 13 episode run, the script was very witty and very adult orientated for its time. It was probably the best of Knight Rider, The A Team and a gleaming of McGuver.
If anything, I think the series was a little too adult orientated and kids watching the series may have not have gotten the references.
