Most shocking or disturbing film?

 I had to watch the first few minutes of that in primary in History :(

Okay, my teacher turned it off straight before the proper bad gore started, but we still saw when the shooting started :(

Nowadays Im fine with it, but that whole opening sequence is awful to watch, especially when
the guy gets ripped in half as he's being dragged across the beach :(

I am going to add Nil by Mouth which I found very disturbing and also Waz (although it's spelt with a triangle in the middle as in an equation) stars Tom Hardy - made me hide behind the pillows

Superman scared me as a kid. The part where Lois Lane dies, and he goes quiet for a minute, then screams really loud and flies off into space. I used to hide behind the couch.

Yes you are correct, my apologies. I flicked thro the movie earlier and the muskrat is knifed thro the throat :(
Hadn't seen it for a while and my memory aint what it used to be, old fart as I am :D

Ok, it's a turgid little tale of country bumpkins getting killed by a teacher, starring Dustin Hoffman and Susan George, and directed by a mostly pissed Sam Peckinpah.

How's that?

Most disturbing ones for me and the ones which have led me to leaving the light on all night, have to be...

As a kid - Wizard of Oz
As a teen - Fatal Attraction
As an adult - Blair Witch

The frightening ones are totally different to me. There are many films which have scared the wotsits out of me like The Exorcist, The Omen, Amitaville Horror and the old Hammer House films etc but 'psychologically disturbing' stays with you.

I've got to say, I avoid horror films as I'm just a complete wimp, but then I always find what you don't see and is left to the imagination is often a lot worse and stays with you longer.

Saw 3 freaked me out a bit with the scene that had

the guy getting his arms, legs and finally head twisted off

The most disturbing film I have ever seen is Hostel. Disturbing as in I can't beleive someone has actually been paid to make this big pile of plop :D

How old were you when you were forced to watch it?

I think what they did was illegal on two fronts.

Anyway, the worst part on the beach, for me, was when:

Hanks was talking to someone one minute, then he grabbed him by the shoulder the next, and his face was missing. It was horrific.

Yes its a black comedy but I don't think the whole thing was played for laughs, the gang rape scene is brutally realistic and the aftermath showing that the man and woman have both been killed and disembowelled is hardly amusing.

lol awesome film - its starts off soooo slowly then all of a sudden - fook me!!!!!! Takes you right off guard!!!!!

Having read the glowing, gloating reviews of 'Oxen Split Torturing' on IMDB it does make you wonder at the mentalities of some of your fellow man.

Several sandwiches short of a picnic doesn't begin to describe them.

Man bites dog, a Belgian film about a documentary film crew following a serial killer around.

The bit where he breaks into a families house kills the mother and father and then smothers their son with a pillow he turns to the camera and says "I hate killing kiRAB.....theres no profit in it".

Its pretty grim.
