Most Pointless Song in an Animated Film?

Probably "Be our Guest" in Beauty and the Beast. Granted, it was an excellent sequence, but it was obviously meant just to showcase the characters and all the living knick-knacks.
 
The one that really irritates me is IGPX. the Episode where Takashi battles Fontine. The English version had great music, the Japanese version had a more sedate, almost Classical style that really dropped the excitment of the whole scene.
 
Most comic relief numbers, like "A Guy Like You" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame or "You're Playing With the Big Boys Now" from The Prince of Egypt.

"Brother My Brother" from Pokemon the First Movie. They had to drop a random song like that in during the Pokemon vs. Clones fight. Luckily 4Kids learned their lesson and didn't have any songs like that during Movies 2-8.
 
Any song in any animated Disney movie. The songs are the main reason why I dispise Disney. It's more than the fact that they're annoying, it's the fact that the songs are used in the most unnessecary and random ways.
 
I would say the worst Disney song sequence fortunately did get cut. "If I never knew you" is a nice song and it being cut from Pocahontas does make the scene where she visits John Smith in prison a bit abrupt. The scene, put on the most recent DVD release, starts off sweet enough, but once they bring in the animals and the montage... overkill.
 
We definitely get it Movie06. Aside from Gargoyles you don't like anything about Disney. :shrug: Can these types of posts please not turn into a trend?

Personally, the songs are some of the best things about Disney films. I can't imagine having to grow up without being exposed to so many wonderful Disney songs over the years. "When You Wish Upon a Star", "When I See an Elephant Fly", A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes", "Merry Unbirthday", "You Can Fly", "Once Upon a Dream", "The Bare Necessities", "Under the Sea", "Be Our Guest", just about all the songs from Aladdin and The Lion King, "Zero to Hero", "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride"...do I need to go on?

There have been a few lame/unnecessary songs from Disney films over the years, but IMHO a majority of them are classics.
 
It's not just Gargoyles I like. I like Lilo & Stitch as well and the POTC films but that's just about it. And it's just that this thread is perfect for me to express my dislike of Disney songs.
 
If you must do so, then do it in a mature, articulate manner. Don't just say "I hate Disney songs and Disney in general" over and over again. Make your point, and say it once, not dozens of times.
