Most overrated film-maker

Tarantino -- style, style, style; most of the stuff he's done was done 5-10 years ago by Hong Kong / Asian Cinema
Speilburg -- too many "happy ever after" endings

I never said he was my favourite. I said he was good. You might want to go back and open your eyes when you read things. My favourites are Martin Scorsese and Jean-Luc Godard I dont think I have much to learn, dear, especially as Tarantino has been copying those two for his whole career.

Tarantino: because the novelty has clearly worn off.
Spielberg: Oh please, the guy hasn't made a good film in years.
Lucas: Jarhead Binks sorry Jar-Jar, which I feel is reason enough.

Pure and Simple, George Lucas

Money grabbing tosspot, who totally sold out with Episodes 1,2,3

Biggest pile of s**t films I have seen in years, purely a money making excersize for Lucasfilm. Bad Acting, Bad production, Bad direction and the most dissapointing 'turn to the darkside' I could of imagined.

One second a Jedi next second most evil man in the universe, don't make me laugh!

I don't think Spielberg is over-rated at all, I thoroughly enjoy his movies, and they have become darker over the years.

Lucas, yes I would say is over-rated, though frankly it's the acting in the Star Wars films, rather than the direction which lets them down.

Tarantino is not over-rated. He's made no secret of stealing ideas and scenes from Asian movies and the Hong Kong scene, so slagging him off for it won't change a thing. I think it takes a lot of talent to crib from other films, yet still produce a piece which feels totally original (though his scriptwriting could do with a bit of work - From Dusk til Dawn contains a lot of the same lines as Pulp Fiction, and probably True Romance, but it's been a while since I've seen it).

I'd say Lars von Triers is over-rated, definitely, but I don't think Kubrick is. Orson Welles, maybe - but he did do things with a camera which had never been done before, and which are used in abundance today. He may have been a great man, but I'm not convinced about him being a great director.

I can't explain it, thats whats so frustrating.

Don't get me wrong I loved the first 3 films, I must have watched episode IV a million times, but I really think the prequels where totally unneccasary.

They were badly done and IMO they were simply made to make money and not for the fans of Star Wars.
