Most over-rated films

the most over rated movie? definately the Blair Witch Project!! there was so much hype about it and how good and scary it was, but it was so dissapointing! boring and not scary at all!

I was really looking forward to seeing Lost In Translation, everyone was hyping it up as this excellent film with Bill Murrays best performance of his career...

I rented it on DVD and lost interest after the first 30 mins. The film was boring, and had more shots of Bill sitting at the bar looking bored and depressed than it had dialogue. If I wanted to watch someone sitting around looking depressed all the time, i'd get someone to follow me with a camera for 2 hours.

I really like Bill Murray, but I'd have to say this was probablyone of his worst films, befinetly over-rated, in every sense of the word.

Padzter :D

Hey peeps well personally i think movies seem to be really going downhill now-a-days not what they used to be i think that :

The day after tomorrow , Cellular, Star wars (all of them), Troy and Star Trek Nemesis are great films but overall the trailers just made the film attractive but they were hugely ovr rated not as good as i thought they would be. I think the film industry should really start thinking about changing things they seem to be spending more and more money on making these films but they never do well do they ? they all seem to care about making profit which they wont do untill they give people what they want to see anyways thats wat i think let me know wat u guys think k cya

KIIS102

The Village: From the adverts and the promo's it was built as an horror film...but it turned out to be nothing as such.........

STAR WARS *she said cautiously, ducking all the imaginary flying tomatoes coming her way from star wars fanatics throughout the www*

The English Patient-the love story with Juliette binoche was the only interesting thing in the whole movie.

Overrated definition-Unjustly highly acclaimed by public and critics.

The original Japanese version of "The Ring".For weeks & weeks i had heard how scary this movie was meant to be from various people. One of the guys in the work gave me a loan of it & i have to say i thought it was utter rubbish.Even by the end credits i was still waiting to be scared.Don't get me wrong i like a good horror movie that is going to be scary but The Ring just wasn't that. This movie is well over hyped.

Titanic
Lord of the rings
Saving private ryan
Van helsing
Troy
The blair witch project
The exorcist
The english patient
New srar wars movies
The matrix
Jurassic park

So your saying that both HP and LOTR (books and films) are over rated, but you've never read the books or seen the films.
Explain that one please

Bladerunner - had heard for years how good it was and was really disappointed when I finally saw it.

The new Star Wars - the original ones are great but the new ones have become lost in CGI.

Spiderman - ruined by the awful Tobey Maguire.

Cabin Fever - supposed to be really scarey, turned out to be nothing better than an updated Bad Taste.

There's Something About Mary - everyone and his dog swore this was one of the funniest films ever, and I laughed about twice (and I normally laugh at things like Dumb & Dumber :o )

The Wedding Singer - one of the most godawful films I have ever seen

Of course, on the other hand there are loaRAB of films I think are very under-rated...

Gladiator! i agree wasn't all that!
Mike Bassett England Manager! wasn't really funny at all
Independence Day! biggest shit i have ever seen to come out America

Over-rated: Mulholland Drive

Don't get me wrong... mega-huge Lynch fan.

Genius, some said. Return to form etc.

Have seen it twice now and although I liked it more the 2nd time around, I don't think it was the real deal.

Personally, I think it was the girl-on-girl action that did it for many male reviewers :)

The day after tomorrow

too many hero's ? President is the last to leave , "yer right"
just to many mistakes very very poor film

I don't go to the cinema very often (last time was Ransom)
but I really wanted to see this I was so disappointed :(

Finding Nemo. It was funny but after sooooooo much hype I eventually watched it about 2 months ago and I did not think it was up to the standard as Toy Story 2 and Monsters Inc.

Gosh, I don't agree with many of these buts thats obviously to be expected.

crispboy i agree with something about mary, though.

Yeah, I wasn't entirely impressed.

I'm trying to think of some..............

Mainly rom-com crap like 4 weddings really annoy me and i dont get how anyone likes them,
