Hostel part 2 is a grim, horrible, pointless film. Mrs MnG put it on at Christmas (when Love Actually was on, in fact) out of curiosity. I was trying to read a book, and if there was somewhere else I could've comfortably gone in the house, I would have left the room. To be honest, I would have preferred to watch Love Actually.

Several scenes in Pan's Labyrinth got me but in particular the scene where the evil captain stoves the face of the young trespasser guy in with the bottom of the bottle early on was the worst one.
true story - my sis was in the states and went to see scream. when she and her mate came out they saw a woman on the floor blood pouring from a huge gaping maw in her neck and a man screaming for help. they phoned an ambulance but she died. they gave statements to the police and that and the story was that some blokes shot her from a van.
turns out though, he was in the mafia and she had found a shedload of money in a suitcase and she wanted to turn it in. so he arranged to have her shot.
needless to say my sis cant watch scream ever again. or anyother horrible film.

The end of Seven PounRAB was disturbing to watch when he kills himself with the jellyfish, it was well acted by Will I must say....It was heartbreaking to see and I felt bad for Will's character, myself and my sister cried throughout the scene....
Also, in Precious when her mother beats her, verbally abuses her and treats her like crap was disturbing and rather harrowing to watch, I really felt empathy for Gabourey's character and Monique's character was truly a monster....
The rape scene in House On The Left (Remake) was really really uncomfortable and upsetting to watch

Disturbing - what one did to a victim
The most lasting impact is the one where a character - upset over his girlfriend dumping him - beats a chained dog to death with an iron pole. Director after the screening assured us all in the audience it was completely fake. It looked and sounded so real.
One audience member demanded proof the dog was all right. The director said it was a stray and they let it go after filming the scene, which didn't assure the audience. I think he was reported to an anti-cruelty to animals organisation. I don't know what happened to that investigation, but he removed said scene from the film before releasing it to the mainstream.
I can't remember the title, but the dog's pained yelps still haunt me.

I'm really not a fan of graphic/violent films and will try to avoid them, but unfortunately for myself I did a course at A Level Film Studies on banned cinema (it was a compulsory modula) and had the misfortune of having to sit through an uncut version of Cannibal Holocaust. The rape scenes in that film made me feel physically sick (one guy in our class actually had to leave to be sick). Its actually the only film that has ever left me physically numb for the rest of the day.
Irreversible was also very disturbing. We were shown the rape scene in a media lesson at university. We never got to see the rest of the film though, I would be quite tempted to watch it, it looked like a good film (unlike Cannibal Holocaust which was just pointless gore, rape and animal toture, plus some really shoddy acting from some Italian porn stars).
