Most Disturbing Moment In A Film

I don't like Cape Fear - am I correct in remembering a scene where a man bites a woman - and not in an erotic type way either but for real? It's horrible :(

The Lovely Bones where Susie Salmon (Soarise Ronan) is in the underground den with George Harvey( Stanley Tucci ) the look of sheer terror on Susies face is haunting and so disturbing ...and also the bit where Susie walks through the bathroom with blood on the floor and sink !.....and that scream !!!.....my girlfriend had nightmares for 3 nights after seeing that scene !

Do any of these actually have a plot though? I'm all for extreme gore and horror, but i kinda need an engaging plot to go with it. Marvelling at how realistic the make up effects are will only get a film so far before it becomes repetitive and pointless.

I watched a film called 'Grotesque' a year or so ago when i'd heard that the BBFC had rejected it, and it was an utterly pointless film clearly relying on the gore elements (i definitely don't reccommend it, even to gore-hounRAB).

OK here's mine. It is common knowledge amongst my frienRAB and family that I am a wuss when it comes to stuff like this but oddly enough I can watch all the Saw films without being remotely bothered, yet occasional scenes from movies that would seem quite mild to others, stay with me.

1) Martin Kemp as one of the Kray twins stabbing the guy in the face at the end (off camera) All you can hear is the knife going in and out (probably in to a melon or something for effect!) but I think it was because it was Martin and I fancied him for heavens sake from Spandau Ballet

2) Wolf Creek when the psycho stabs one girl in the spine and paralyses her and then shoots her friend like an animal after she survives the car crash.

3) Schindlers List when Amon (Fiennes) is just casually shooting people from his balcony and then later when he kills the poor jewish kid who doesn't clean his bath correctly just when we think he is having a change of heart from being the cold hearted murderer he is. Completely put me off Fiennes for a time so he must have acted that one well!

4) The gang rape of Jodie Foster at the end of The Accused. I think it was because I wasn't expecting it and I was sitting on a sofa in a mate's house inbetween her and her boyfriend and I had to watch this scene with a mixture of shock and embarrassment.

The first scene from a movie that freaked me out, one of my first trips to the cinema, for anything other than Disney movies though. ;)

Can't watch it...terrified of the dentist. :(

The bit where here cheerily says:- " I call this one, head on a stick"

I find anything involving animal cruelty affects me much more than people. Somehow I always wonder, if they really did it to the animal involved.

:D

Hostel - Where bad guy tells the boy he could leave after drilling holes into his body but when he gets up he falls to the floor because his ankles have been sliced!!!!! Eish! That is when I walked away!

Me too, hated that bit sooo much, never watched one since.

Yes the book of 'The green mile is much better. I cried more for the mouse though! Is that wrong ? :o

Yes I saw a documentary about a lad in America who did that, he got a little dog, tied it to a tree and shot it several times with an air rifle, while it yelped and tried to run around the back of the tree, then he put it in a plastic bin-bag, poured on petrol, and laughed his head off while it screamed and burned to death. His mates stood around calling him sick, but did nothing to help the poor creature.
The lad made some big mistakes, he filmed the whole episode left a copy in his car, got arrested for something, and the cop who arrested him watched the video, ironically it was his (The cops) dog. The lad went to jail, for a pathetically short time. The documentary and the showing of the video of what happened to the dog, therin. Will haunt me forever.

Yes but you could see it coming.

Yes this grossed me out many years ago. As much for the enjoyment on the faces of the guys doing it, as anything else.

The rape scene in 'Scum', always numbs me. Then to watch the poor lad so distraught in his cell after slashing his wrists, trying to get the ignorant wardens attention.

Thats terrible, its just a movie, if people dont like it then they dont need to see it,it is somewhat shocking but its also quite different from the usual tripe hollywood usually churn out.

The scene in Boys Don't Cry where Hilary Swank (a transgendered teen who preferred life in a male identity) is found out to be biologically female, and is raped (and finally) killed by the gang! :(

As it is based on a true story, these scenes truly upset me!
