Most Depressing Band / Song(s)

Well, I listen to alot of depressing music... lol.... coldplay's songs are relatively more complacent sounding, and there are uplifting songs in their catalogue, perhaps more so on their most recent album, perhaps? They're a fine band IMO! I also don't understand the stick they get - I am not billing them as the second coming of the rock Jesus, but I just think they're a solid pop / rock band that I enjoy.

HIM have depressing songs too but listening to them makes me feel calm on the inside and not-so-calm on the outside...not really depressed..it only depresses me when i'm already sad
Placebo's songs don't depress me at all...they're ok to listen to
Nirvana's songs on the other hand are depressing cause they make me think about Kurt's life (even though they shouldn't)

not all classical music is sad and whatnot but for the most part i think it can be one of the most melancholy genres out there. it says volumes without lyrics.

beatles- im a loser
beatles- you've got to hide your love away
beatles- for no one
beatles- michelle
beatles- girl

led zeppelin- since ive been loving you
led zeppelin- tangerine
led zeppelin- going to california

^off the top of my head, might be some more.

I voted for Other, or Floyd the Wall. High quality depression. Blue Sky might actually be the most depressing song in the album but there's a few close ones. The only thing I don't understand is these guys were rock stars. What did they have to be depressed about short of maybe having some chemical irabalance? (ahem, modern day crying brit banRAB) Still, beautifully sad music though. Screw Coldplay. I like Radiohead but hear the guy's a super obnoxious ass. I hate when fame screws with talent.
