Most annoying things people do in a cinema?

It's not 'people' as such, but the price of 'treats' at the cinema is extortionate. To be on topic, I can blame the people that set the prices.

I don't mind so much when they sit behind me. It's when they sit right in front of me I don't like it.

I went to the cinema by myself one week and was the first person to arrive at the showing. I had been sat for a few minutes when the next couple arrived. Seeing me as the only other person there they made a comment about it being annoying that in an empty cinema people would choose to sit in the row and seats directly in front of me. I said if they did I would get up and move.

I don't think they thought I was serious as they looked very shocked when I did get up and move after they sat right in front of me.

People who buy massive boxes of popcorn that they are still crunching on when the end credits start rolling or people who buy smelly, hot food. And people who have sweets in bags that rustle noisily!

How the hell can't people sit through a film without having to fill their fat faces. I accept that drinks are needed to quench thirst and avoid dehydration, but there's really no need for anyone to eat noisy or smelly food in a cinema when others are there to enjoy the film in peace.

I think the worst thing I experienced was in Cineworld in Wood Green, big momma's house was showing, and there were these teenagers in the back row smoking marijuana, and being a small theatre, it soon became filled with smoke, and I didn't enjoy the smell...

My friend got up and got security, it was nice seeing the police turn up too :D.

I have to agree with most of the comments made in his thread but Ive got one that has not been said yet. I went to watch a film at 1pm on a saturday so the cinema was half full and I had a row to myself. The row in front of me was empty as well but 2 people came into the cinema and sat directly in front of me in the row in front. They had a whole row of seats to choose yet they had to choose the seats that were directly in front of me. So I had to move down a few seats but it did annoy me!

People next to me, especially if they try to nick the armrests off me.

Tall people , they usually come in with a shorty, but oh no, it's the tall one who sits directly in front of me.

Another one is 'know it alls' that talk aloud about what 'should' happen next or what should have happened. Or they moan about something 'in a film' that is not realistic, either that, they speak aloud and guess what will happen next. It's even worse when the are right.
I don't mind when people slurp the last of their drink through the straw for a few secs, but some people will slurp and slurp and slurp until the ice has melted.

I hate when really tall people sit in front of me. Why don't they go sit near the back?
I think now that I'm 18 I can officially complain about kiRAB (:D) I hate when the throw stuff at you, I jsut throw it back though.
Also random people talking about what they're making for dinner while its the good bit. I mean really is it that important?

People that insist on making you stand so they can get past even though the other end of the row is free, or worse make you do this when other decent (ones in the centre and not too near the front) are free. Also people who sit next to, behind or in front of you when there are plenty of good free seats not near anyone.

I will admit to eating popcorn/pick n mix in the cinema because I go once in a blue moon and you can't get them elsewhere. I draw the line at hot, smelly stuff like nachos or hot dogs though.

And then you may have to deal with the irate person in whose seat you are sitting!:D

Why can't people just sit in their allocated seat?

I've not been to a cinema that has had allocated seating for years and I can only ever remember finding someone sitting in my seat the one time. Do many cinemas still have allocated seating?

I LOVED it when another disgruntled cinema goer stood up, turned to a group of rowdy teenagers and yelled,

"Everyone here is getting really p!ssed off with you, SHUT UP"
and everyone applauded :)

The teens then left about 10 minutes later loudly announcing they were bored

I despise it when people think it's funny to sit at the back and throw food at the people in the middle.

When you sit right next to the stairs and there is always a bloody person who has to go to the loo every 5 secs it could be an intense scene and right next ya people take the loudest footstep and they just run past you and you can always see it in the corner of your eye. (i must admit it is funny when they trip)

My cinema i go to is Odeon in Southampton it does have allocated seating still is a pain sometimes seeing as sometimes thay dont ask where abouts you want to sit they just sit you at the front or somewhere you dont want to be.

People who kind of push/kick the back of your chair is also irratating.

I hate it when people bring their babies who are like 3 months old or something, and they constantly cry throughout the film, when I saw High School Musical 3 with my sister months ago in Cineworld(Wood Green) There was this one woman with a baby that would NOT stop crying, it just ruins the scenes you're watching.

But were you sitting in the middle of the row? I prefer to sit in the middle in order to avoid crooked kneck. And unless you looked like a seat kicker or if I was going to obscure the view of someone small I will sit in the middle (ideally on a empty row with an empty row in front and behind).
