More Exciting Warner Bros. Animation news!

When I stumbled upon TAG Blog, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that Warner Bros. Animation (who people thought was only focusing on Batman, DC Comics and Scooby Doo) was making a Looney Tunes series called Laff Riot.

The last time a Looney Tunes reboot series come forth was the atrocious Loonatics Unleashed (2005-2007), and we all know how well that turned out.

While I say that it's extremely awesome that WBA is at least pretending to care about animation's lost icons, they have to put some hard work into the show, whether if they're putting in the 6 to 7 minute formula or making it similar to Duck Dodgers (which was a good/ok show).

Here's hoping the show is able to recapture the way the real Looney Tunes are supposed to be, not crud like Baby Looney Tunes or Loonatics.
 
A new Looney Tunes series, eh?

Since they would appear to be going for the laughs this time rather than superhero action or babyfied cuteness, this should be interesting.
 
Looks very promising since it does look to aim to recapture the old toon style of humor instead of babyification and the EXTREME!! method, I might watch this.
 
I can't wait for the new looney tunes show, I wonder thow will it be on theCW or on CN. Either way can't wait. and any news on when the 1st season of the new scooby doo toon will be finished?
 
I'm crying tears of joy! Although, if this has as much good old fashioned cartoon violence as the old LT, how will it get past the censors?

This is either going to be comedy gold, or the most awful thing this side of Johnny Test. We shall see.

Looks like someone's been reading Jeff Harris articles from Awesome by Default. Let's see if they take the rest of his advice for re-introducing Looney Tunes.

Looks promising and it's great to hear WBA is working on more cartoons. Hopefully it turns out well and it doesn't bomb.
 
I still have a very sour taste in my mouth from the "Baby Looney Tunes/Loonatics" era. They're gonna have to do something really spectacular to win my confidence back. It will almost have to be the "second coming of Jones and Maltese" level of spectacular to win me back...

Approaching with much skepticism....
 
Another Looney Tunes series. While it is another attempt at bringing Looney Tunes back to the public, I hope it does well this time. The last great Looney Tunes-related series we got was Duck Dodgers.
 
Someone finally gets the brains to try re-introducing Looney Tunes the public. This is the best news I've heard all day.
Hopefully, this show will be classic Looney Tunes and not some watered down crap like Loonatics.
If it is similar to 40's Looney Tunes, I hope it rejuvinates the franchise! :bugs1:
 
There's three ways I can see this going:

1) CRAPCRAPCRAPCRAPCRAP
2) respectful of the old cartoons to the point of not really doing anything new
3) highly creative and innovative, taking the best traits of the old cartoons while giving its directors freedom to find their own voices, a near-perfect mix of old and new, likely inconsistent in quality but it's not as if every Termite Terrace short was a masterpiece, and one of the best things on TV

Hoping for the last one. Expecting the second. Dreading the first.
 
Weren't the Larry Doyle cartoons aborted because Back in Action flopped at the box office? I never actually remember them being released at all. There were like, what, 30 in development?
