Modifications to Charging system when using subs.?

1996 Grand Prix, new battery, just installed Dual Electronics 10" subwoofer and Sony amp, having electrical issues (lights dimming when bass kicks in, etc etc.) could it just be a bad alternator or should I be running a more powerful alt than stock? Or should I install a capacitor?
 
get your self a good capacitor first it sounds like thats all you need ,, if thats not the problem the capacitor will let you know,,the good ones are all digital so,, it will tell you the voltage
